Commonwealth Bank Series

Well usually there is a huge advantage batting first on the SCG especially if you get 250+ as that's usually a win for you. So this kinda of evens that part out but Bell and Collingwood are the form batters.

There is a update to weather and this what the situation is going to be like...

BOM website said:
A rain band with embedded thunderstorms lies over the southern half of the NSW coast and adjacent ranges. The band will weaken in the south and move northward overnight and tomorrow. The highest rainfall totals reported in the 6 hours to 3pm are 155mm at Grassy Gully on the Shoalhaven river, northwest of Nowra, 103mm at Nowra, and 73mm at Kentlyn in southwestern Sydney.

Very heavy rain is expected to cause localised flash flooding in the Sydney Metropolitan area, the Hunter, Illawarra, South Coast and about eastern parts of the Southern and Central Tablelands districts. The rain is expected to ease in the south overnight and extend to the Mid North Coast tomorrow.

The rain isn't over yet folks...so there could be further rain disruptions at the S.C.G throughout the night.

Well that last rain delay has helped us out. That was an awesome bit of fielding from Hussey to runout Bell. Still Collingwood is still there and looking in good as hes has done in his previous knocks.

True. I just got some rainfalls here as well. the rain is isolated. This time it missed the SCG.

England version of Ponting scores another 50, probably not enough time to make his 100 well I hope there isn't. Hussey bowling in the final 10, looks to be more effective than Watson so far.

"Clark looks for answers on ODI axing"

Doesn't he get it? Maybe he should look at the other bowlers around him and check out their economy rate and check out the opposition and the form they were in during that time. His economy rate would be above 6 if he didn't bowl to the tail on acouple of occassions. Maybe he should go talk to Hilfenhaus and see if his been hardly done by. FC form has no bearing on ODI status and if he happens to convince the selectors with that performance then I'll be extremely pissed off.

I also laughed at Geoff Lawson, saying that Clark is "terrific" under pressure? What's he done to prove that? What's he done bowling at International level when the pressure is on? His as likely to muck up and cost us the WC in the semi-final as Shaun Tait is, perhaps even more. Tait also went for less then 3 an over in his 10 overs in his last game when the bowlers around him were struggling. That effort of 1/26 from Tait is a hell of allot better then Clark's 4/55 and if you look at the other figures all of the other bowlers went for 3-4 runs per over and how Clark took his wickets. We've already got Watson taking the cheap wickets, no is no need for Clark. We need genuine bowlers who can tie a batsman down and go at less then 4 and a half an over. He'll get eaten alive in the Caribbean.

What a catch by Lee

Yea dam good effort by him to catch that. Obviously lots of luck involved there, everything that needed to stick, stuck for him. They would have been looking at 300 with Flintoff going the way he was.

Unless Gilly & Haydos fire, I think we're screwed if the duckworth lewis system comes into play. Hayden's due for a failure.
Yeh but Gilly's due for a blinder, so works either way?

Well Gilly is due for one so that will off set Hayden if he fails.
Hmm bowling Watson at the death, Ponting has a lot of faith in him. Seems to have some hard to pick slower balls at least.

What a shockin desison by Nixon, Ponting exellent in the field, alot of run outs in this match, entertain finish
