When ever i bat, all my edges are to the keeper. There is no point of the slips. I wish there would be a variety of edges so that more catches are taken by the slips especially in test matches.
Whilst this is true, it almost seems like having slips stops the "scripted" edges from happening so much as the AI doesn't play shots that would edge to slips very often if there's a cordon. You can also use a short third man to basically stop any "scripted" edges going through and put your slips in other catching positions.
Most of the slip edges come from bowling outside off or almost wide in my experience, but I have got enough catches in the slips to always warrant having a 2nd slip, a 3rd or 4th slip and a gully.
Any news on when will be the next patch

I want the Advanced Ground shots , how come this got overlooked in Cricket 19 which is an existing shot in all Big Ant cricket games
I can't wait. I have started a new career and I'm thoroughly enjoying the quality of this game, when I first got it I think I smashed it too hard and started picking at the imperfections as I'd experienced everything in the game.
If they could just adjust fielding ability experience and also AI field choices, bring injuries and missing cut scenes back and fix some of the stats stuff (for instance, if you go into a competitions stats, select a player and see their career stats, currently it does not show how many wickets they took in each match but shows a lot of other stats for individual matches), game would be a 9.9/10 for me.
Also, is it just me or did the patch where they fixed the bowl speed seem to make pure pace less effective at taking wickets? I was using a very heavy speed+acc build and constantly bowling at top speed, usually good lengths and the AI often struggled to hit it or edged it to a slip. The ball just doesn't seem to physically fly through the air as fast anymore.. either that or they sped up the animations of the batsmen but since that patch, pure speed is definitely no where no as effective.
