before when i try to upload a pic it dint upload my page got stuck

may be cuz it was bitmap image.which r big in size .

then i converted it to jpg.and then it uploaded fine.

what i want to ask is there any other format which can reduce the size of the pic .

so other people who use dail up internet connection wont have any problems.
