Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

Are the Beta boys involved in the testing process?

When talking about Cricket 22 while using video clips from Cricket 19, maybe have an overlay over the clips stating that they are from cricket 19 so that people don’t confuse them with the new game

There might be a new game announced but the mods are watching. Our ban hammers are polished and ready for a sacrifice.

If I may remind you all of the rules.

Am gonna stick my head out here and mention that I’m terribly disappointed with the lack of fluidity in the batting animations even with this game. The batsman moves from a still position to completing the shot in a millisecond without any transition which makes it look so sudden and unrealistic. Am disappointed because I really thought that BigAnt would put most efforts in animation (making them fluid instead of so sudden and unrealistic) with this game as they had the gameplay sorted out with cricket 19.
E.g that cover drive from root around 1:14 mins into the video. The bat moved even before the foot and the whole animation looks so sudden and unrealistic

PS: This, obviously, is my personal opinion and I know it’s based on a 10 second video clip but I’ve seen the animations enough in cricket 19 to know what’s most likely to come in the final game in terms of batting animations

I'm hoping its down to bad user input. But if I'm going off what the trailer said, 'a more arcadey feel' then seamless animations aren't part of an arcade experience. I think at the end of the day if its fun, then its fun, the real challenge like any sports game is how challenging can the AI be.

I will say one thing though, the clouds look fantastic this time around, like really good. Never liked the skyboxes of previous games so I really liked what I saw in that regard.

animation transitions are near impossible in something like this, except for the AI character, because you don't know what the user is going to do. we've been asking for a later input window to avoid pre-meditation, so this is a trade off. if we want fluid transitions, the timing window will have to be earlier.

i'd much rather the later window than the smooth transition.

how did u guys feel about Player Character detailing ? Looks improved ?
I wish Some New different kinds of Bowling actions to be introduced ..
Mainly gameplay is what awaited to be watched out .

If you look closely you can even see David Gower in his Tiger Moth.

Hair looked good from the brief look at Hazelwood's head lol. I can't really make a call until I see more tbh. I just don't want to see a gameplay video of IGN massacring the gentlemen's game again lol

That would be amazing if that was a cheat code in-game lol

Yep, I feel it might be due to bad input too. Earlier in that video (1:07) there was another shot which looked a lot better much like how it's in Cricket 19 now. Looking forward to the nets demo, hopefully that eases our fears.
