Anyone on ps5 able to play a forward defensive on the off side?

as you can see here I can play attacking shots to the off side but not defensive.

tried with 2 controllers.

they made a cricket game without a forward defensive. Let that sink in.

I have found the same however I managed to defend a couple on the off against Lyon in an Ashes Test.

Seems impossible to execute the shot against the fast bowlers but it is there against spin- very strange as we could play this shot in the Nets with no issues

I can’t play it even in the nets or ground fielding. Not tried vs a spinner though.

and only happens when the defensive trigger is applied.

Definitely seems to be an issue after the most recent patch was pushed through. :/

Man this game is clearly nowhere near ready for release and nowhere near as polished as Cricket 19 or even Ashes Cricket

Sad thing is as I’ve looked around there is the germ of depth there. If you look at the player creator at the skills and proficiencies, if they affected gameplay you could get some real variety.

but the actual gameplay at this stage is very poor, easily worse than c19 and the player visuals are meh

So many things missing seems rushed and half cooked.Can't seem to be able to pick a team and play through the big bash tournement.I quite enjoy playing as one player rather than the whole team.
Sure i had some edges in ashes mode which the aussie's didn't even appeal for.Keeper didn't even try to catch a looped shot.In T 20 fielders make no effort to come forward and try and catch the ball even though it bounces 2 feet in front of them.The commentary is awful and has no awareness of where the game is up to only when players get 50's etc or partnerships.Things like the 100 is up etc or last over before lunch.Sure i heard Atherton say its always difficult for a batsman to come in after a wicket has fallen.This is doesn't make the slightest bit of sense.Also to add no national anthems or any sort of presentation before the first ashes test.Players running on the same was as c19.
Do like the in window running though not sure what purpose it really serves

Hmm I play with arcade controls when batting and I pointed my stick at mid off and the batsmen did a defensive shot for the leg side I was a bit confused then but seeing your post it may be an actual thing

It's not perfect but it is fun for me atm, I'm really struggling to bat even with difficulty on medium!

Does not really have anything to do with Cricket 22 does it? Surely you agree no gameplay before a games release is not a good sign? You cant go 30 seconds of gameplay without a bug or something looking completely off.

It’s extremely frustrating. The front foot defensive shot vs pace bowling doesn’t work. Even if it’s the right shot and timed perfectly the error seems to be it saying poor shot choice so it misses the ball. I have send a big report to Big Ant about it and hopefully it gets patched soon.
