Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

I'm torn on this. I like realism and would love some things like overseas player limits improved. However, there's so much bullshit in the cricketing world (political, structural) that can be ignored and improved upon.
It is just a mere simulation of the sport so why would real world political posturing come into it? I agree anything like a limit on overseas players is and should be implemented but maybe optional like the 25 and 40 man rosters in baseball this then adds an option for realism if so desired?

I understand that this is probably not high in the priority list for BA, but I'm dealing with an issue in The Hundred Draft where the AI get to pick the same player for multiple teams. This isn't just restricted to one team. For example, I was playing a Birmingham Phoenix campaign yesterday and Ben Stokes was part of both the Manchester Originals and Welsh Fire squads. Same with Jofra Archer for the Fire and the Oval Invincibles. Another issue that I keep getting is that a player that I've already picked in the draft, their name keeps appearing in the list of when I get my next draft pick. Also, the occasional game crash during draft mode itself.
yes. same exact issues with me too. I checked if there are two versions of same player downloaded in my account but that wasn't the case.

The problem with overseas rules in England is that so many players are considered 'local' due to passports they have through ancestral lines or residency, right to remain for those with EU passports. Most counties have at least one player that'd fall into one of these categories.

Brad Wheal was born in South Africa, joined Hampshire in England at 19, has a British passport and now plays for Scotland, qualifying through his mother. He was called up as local player last year. He could probably get picked by England or South Africa tomorrow and play for either one.

So it's more complex than just putting on a block on anyone who doesn't have country set to England.

I don’t think any of it is simple tbf..
I do agree, the MLB roster and contract system is very complicated and a bit convoluted but MLB the show series does implement this system very well. If you were to engage in a true career simulation of the sport then including all the contractual implications would be a step towards being an indepth career simulation but feel we're a long way from that area of gaming for any cricket sports game.

Played for an hour and must say that at least for career mode, bowling wise, its been the best experience thus far in C22 lifespan. Bowling a good line and length isn't met with 20/20 batting (playing a FC game at Lord's). But if I bowl too straight or full, the AI play shots accordingly. Been pretty fun actually. I am using my own custom sliders though and not default.

The fielding has been great, seen some great dives from cover and point and fine leg dove forward toward the boundary to tap the ball back - looked really good. Haven't batted yet but so far I am loving the new update.

In terms of micro stuttering, I just verified file integrity on steam and seemed to fix most of the issues. It seems to happen as the ball is halfway down the pitch just after bouncing and just before and after the batsman plays a shot if that helps.

Edit: Another thing is the bowling far camera has a lot of quick cut like movements during, after a delivery is bowled, just makes it a bit hard to concentrate especially when it transitions to a cutscene with smooth panning movement.

My framerate has completely tanked since the last update on PC. I can't play the game at 1080p without turning down some of the settings anymore (RTX 3060)
Same here, the frame rate has dropped significantly. From the high 90s down to an abysmally low 50 fps.

My short experience of bowling in a test match was as good as I can remember since, perhaps, Ashes Cricket.

Fielding is also as good as I can remember.

In this specific update, or have you not played on the last few updates? We've been investigating a number of reports of this and this patch should have made some slight improvements, not further reductions - so want to verify for sure where the comparison point is.

Did you try the old verify integrity files in steam?
Doing that right now.

After today’s update. I play regularly.

I usually used to get 110 fps playing on 2k res and the gpu usage used to be 50-60%

Today the game is using 100% of gpu.

I’ve a 3070
