Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

I’m sure this has been asked before but is there any way I can create a tournament with multiple groups?? All I see is the option of round robin
in single group.

That is extremely realistic for a modern-day WI player.
Well done!
So it turns out I didn't actually get dropped but we just didn't play a test for 18 months. Just kept on simming through the ODI/T20 stuff and finally come April of 2025 I got that England test.
A pox on the ICC.

Not sure if mentioned before but does the pitch wear work at all? I’ve just been playing ODI’s on PS5 and have pitch on fast wear but nothing has changed.

I played two days of a test match yesterday and can honestly say that the pitch did wear visually.

Slider talk outside of the slider thread! Very brave :-)

As far as I'm aware, turning the speed up will make every ball faster, but that kind of defeats the point for a medium pacer as you'll be bowling faster if you pull the min bar higher.

Visual speed is the one that is purely visual, but I don't know if you'll get more bounce per se. That isn't something I've tested.

You could increase the general pitch or ball bounce sliders, but you might want to keep an eye on what the quicker bowlers do as a result. You may make them unusable as they now can't get a normal delivery near the stumps.

If you're in career and only controlling one player, that might not be as much of an issue, but I suppose it would be when you're batting.
Hi
Can u plz share pace bowling slider settings since I can't see any LBWs Or Bowled... Only catches in outfields. Also I can't see any edges on full or good length balls going to keeper or slips. Simply the edges goes off to odd boundary on leg side. Plz suggest. What pace bowling visual speed and Min. To Max Pace bowling speed to set in the difficulty settings.

Here is something that has never happened to me in any cricket game. Including all previous BA ones.

I hit a straight drive that hit the non-striker's stumps, then sling shot back past the batsmen and the keeper to the boundary. It was as if the stumps got mad at the ball for hitting it, and it hit back as hard as it could!!

Too bad I did not save a video of it.

That happened to me too yesterday, was unsure why it was a 4 till I watched the replay

So something weird has happened in my career mode where I no longer get selected for West Indies tests even though I'm rated 92 and was the captain for 2 years. Now I get selected for all the T20 leagues, as well as the national ODI and T20 tours but get nothing from tests. I've kept up with playing county cricket and Shield first class so unsure what is happening. Any work arounds?
Blame the windies board.

What are people's thoughts on the AI bowl quality setting?

I know a lot of people said the setting was backwards and that 0-10 made the AI bowl better, and I agreed...up until recently.

I currently have it at 10 and the AI bowl either short balls that half the time are called wides, or balls on a good length.

I raised it to 75 and the AI don't really bowl short balls.

So now I'm confused.

Edit: I've increased it to 100 and now the AI are bowling just about every ball in the book. Short, full, yorkers, good length, inswingers, outswingers.
I'm now thinking that the setting is more about variance than quality.

Further Edit: I'm also pretty sure that RA to LH batter is better with it set to 100.
Yeh I have changed to a 100 as well from 15 and it’s a completely different game AI swinging it pitching up dropping short, thanks for pointing that out

Bowlers have different styles. Match to match (team to team) bowlers might bowl differently not because of the slider but because they have different plans. E.g. if you face Mark Wood and then change the slider as James Anderson comes on they will bowl differently anyway.

Lowering the bowl quality will make the bowlers less accurate. So, it would make sense, if they are bowling a tighter line to left handers, that it'd be better with the rating set higher.

How do you actually bowl a slower ball at the moment? Off cutter with the L Trigger depressed and it's coming out at 143kmh?!
