Cricket 24 - General Discussion

Duckett and Crawley come out to bat and Duckett if anything looks taller than Crawley.......but yeah they are not licensed so......
Think it's to do with how the cut scene animations work. It just fills a gap with a player into a stock body. Although I do think Rahkeem maintains his physique in cut scenes.

Same reason you'll get left handers practicing as right handers.

Understood but then weird to use that system to highlight your prized attribute: licensed players.....

Ross is on one this morning. Replying to all the critics. That normally is a sure sign a patch is about to drop

The thing that annoys me about this is, Ross calling out one stupid post. Yes, South Afrca is not licensed, fair enough. But what about the many many FACTS that have been proven that is not working. Don't just call out the one post that was incorrect. Own up to the multiple ones that have pointed out issues from BA's side as well. It goes both ways.

*cough*narcistic tendencies*cough*

Ross in general has shown bad attitude towards any sort of criticism.
i can understand twitter can be overwhelming, but he was much more engaging during the dbc14 days. what changed? answer is they are the only ones making cricket games now.
The moment another studio jumps in to make a cricket game ,you will see all this change.
It will happen not today or in a year but surely someday.

Xbox One. Tried playing for an hour or two, but it is a proper mess. Still playing C22 and waiting for a patch to see if anything improves. Getting flashbacks of C22's release waiting 3 weeks for an Xbox patch. Cricket 24 - Xbox Deja Vu Edition.
Yeh same I’ve come off it till they catch up with patches basically playing a different game to everyone else could be weeks yet until it’s caught up if at all as the patches might not pass

I think we are seemingly witnessing that a majority of us here will eventually buy the game if nothing but our pure love for cricket . Kind of makes me feel that Big Ant was banking on that, and hence the focus group was someone else.

The price tag is one of the major factors preventing me from joining the bandwagon as I can't seem to get myself to justify spending that much for a few upgrades. Licenses hold no meaning to me.

The last title I bought was C19 as it had a very attractive price point. I stayed off C22 but I'm hoping things change gameplay wise in future iterations to allow me to make an investment in the product. For now, it's still a no-go for C24 as I feel (pure speculation) not much will be done via patches apart from fixing the UI and glaring bugs.

A couple of my friends picked C19 up just because it was cheap. They wouldn’t touch C22 with a two foot pole due to the price. Some of these issues would be slightly more tolerable if the game’s price was also lower than what it currently is.

my biggest nitpick with keepers is when you bowl with a spinner, and the AI batsman leaves it, the keeper already knows and will often take the delivery not merely in front of the stumps, but in front of the batsman. bizarre

I had a bat pad catch like that, inside edge onto pad looped back down the pitch and the keeper ran through the batsman to take it.

Everything is unfolding exactly the same way as with C22's release. And exactly what we said back then, we would cut BA/Ross much more slack if they would engage with the community, own up to the mess and say we stuffed up, but this is our plan going forward. But keeping quiet and calling out the odd 1 or 2 things from the public, that's how you lose respect and all credibility. C22 was my first and only pre-order. The most I've paid for a video game ever. It was a mess. With C24 I was in in two minds weather to buy it or not. Got the game on Day 1. 2nd most money I've spent on a game ever. And until now I've played maybe 2 hours max. How do you justify spending all that money on a game and ending up playing the older games instead? The guys on here, the fact that we are on this forum every day means we actually care about the future of the game. When we go quiet, that's when you know we have given up on BA and the game. Again I say, engage with the people, own up, so we can turn this copy paste version of a game from a mediocre level to something spectacular. Otherwise I think this will probably be my last BA cricket title.

This responsibility falls on you, my friend. Given the messy release of C22 and the poor and misleading pre-release marketing for C24, buying it on day one while disregarding these issues is unrealistic, expecting miraculous improvements.

The collective approach of the folks on this forum (at least) should be to operate as a group. I'm not implying that we shouldn't purchase BA's cricket games, as I'm a fervent cricket gaming enthusiast myself. However, this should only occur if BA acknowledges their release shortcomings and takes responsibility for them by delivering frequent patches. Buying at the right time would send a strong message to BA and promote better quality in the future.

Phew... this is what we should have done.. unfortunately many here couldn't control their inner child

Issue is just because you don't enjoy it doesn't mean others wont. So the whole let's stand together thing would never work.

And people that didn't think they would have bought it and enjoyed it.

FOMO alone ensures that it’ll never work especially in the gaming community which tends to have short memories.
