Cricket 24 - General Discussion

No chances of that happening? Just building a layer on top of the tired old engine and tired old animations? If the current engine was a person they would be getting spoon fed soup at Seaview Residence for the Overworked telling boring stories about how they remember in the good old days that if a cricket ball hit an advertising hoarding it sounded like that instead of a soiled adult nappy smacked against the shower wall…..and catching Sonny, you kids have no idea…we used to be able to catch and it was part of the fun….and clouds on rainy days, no it is true, honestly…..but at least you have the sauna and yoga these days……

Just guessing. They are balls deep with rugby and finishing off tennis. Would give them about 9 months to make next Ashes? Is that enough. No idea.

I do honestly think though if your taking pure gameplay 24 isn’t a bad game like @blockerdave said. If you love career etc then maybe it’s a different story. But I get a good game out of it

Every game has it's nonsense. I got probably the longest best run of gameplay / matches out of c19 when I was doing the England in the 90s playthrough, but it got very jarring/annoying with the spinner dominance after a while.

I've had a lot of good games in 24. The games I played recently were especially good because a) my spinner didn't seem to be a cheat code; b) since I hadn't played for a long time before it, I didn't have frustration already built up from the niggles and c) I probably went in with low expectations, tbh.

Can't seem to update australian domestic teams with community created ones.

It says they can not be linked due to license team.

When I try and download international teams it overwrites fine...

What am I doing wrong?

100% this. Cricket 24, while far from faultless and quite telegraphed in many scenarios, is the one I've enjoyed the most for team vs team test matches, to the point I've gone fairly in-depth on early 2000s test teams and squads. It's recovered well since launch (when I refunded it) to play some really decent games of FC/Test cricket. I certainly wouldn't have put money on having over 600 hours in it after the launch mess. :D

May be we should start posting about wish list for #Cricket26

I've got a prediction for him, C26 will be a half arsed mess, released too early, reliant on beta testers who have been stupid enough to pre order the game and abandoned when BA refocus their attention on the next iteration of Aussie Rules/Tennis/Rugby/Lacrosse/Hurling/Tiddlywinks/Arm Wrestling/Kabbadi or whatever niche sport game they pursue next.

Personally i'd be happy with them taking the Early Access route, if they start with a base game in say March with the full launch window being around the 2nd Test, that'd give them 8 months to get the game up to scratch for a console launch

No Hobby Horsing 26?? So disappointing!!

So after I absolutely crushed South Africa using Sri Lanka, confidence was high heading into a Test series between England and India. I batted first using England and declared at 400 to get a few overs at India before the break. Started pretty well as I picked up one of the openers for 12. However, it was all downhill from there as it took me nearly 170 overs to get them out and they made 550+. Fair to say, I'm batting for a draw now.
Update on this match. Managed to set a target of 250 and decided to declare and give myself 50 overs to try and knock them off. They ended up 9 down but managed to draw the game. Some slightly incorrect decisions early on cost me but it was by far the most thrilling game of cricket I've played on Cricket 24. Absolutely loved it. Hopefully I get more matches like it.

Not sure if they would help much. I'm not the best at these games, especially with the batting timing so it's not on the hardest difficulty but the sliders I use are ones that I found in these forums.
AI Base Difficulty - Veteran
Striker Timing - 50
Wicket Chance - 40
Bowl Quality - 0
Run Rate - 27
Bowling Difficulty - Hard
Batting Difficulty - Medium
They were the only changes I made from the set of sliders I found on here.

Why bowl quality on 0, isn't that worse?

I have no idea. I'm pretty certain that the sliders I found on here had that as the number. I don't really know what they do or don't do. I just tweaked the run rate down slightly and wicket chance up slightly to give myself a good game without being too easy or too hard.
