Hi All,
I am keen to play these league but have little idea how they work.
Would be great if someone could explain. I would be delighted to sign up and play. Thx.
You basically sign up in a league that interests you as a team manager or a player. But first make sure if they're still looking for sign ups or are already full. You can usually tell by their prefixes and thread titles.
Leagues based only on real life players such as the
CWG, various nation-based premier leagues are the ones where you sign up as a team manager. You just have to pick players via drafts/auctions, post lineups and comment on your team's performance.
There are other leagues made for living our fantasies of playing top level cricket where you can sign up as a player, such as
this. You need to post actively to maintain a good batting/bowling rating, support your team, throw around a bit of friendly banter at opposition players if they get under your skin. If you're selected to captain your team, then you need to take up the additional role of picking players if they're not already put together by the league manager, posting lineups etc.
I think this explains the basic things about taking part in a cricket league, but there's a lot more about that and other stuff on
this post.
Cheers and have a nice time here.
