And in the most recent update to the cricketlifegame.com website...

We are excited to announce the revival of this game. We have worked very hard over the recent months to revive this game and re-write the game engine from scratch. The game-play is focused on a Cricketer's life, allowing you to delve deeper into the specifics of managing a player's life. The game is now scheduled to be soft-launched in February 2021 for mobile platforms as a free-to-play edition with a phased-feature release. Please stay tuned for updates. Our next update will be for inviting you to play the game on the Play store, starting in January. Starting next month, our Dev Team plans to bring you regular blog entries giving insight into the game features and behind-the-scenes progress, leading all the way up to the phased-release.

This is the same text as earlier in the year except the "soft launch" has changed from September 2020 to February 2021 and the "play store" invitation is now January.

The running joke continues 17 years later as the website was miraculously revived a few months ago.

Here is the company's public corporate information which was updated last year. The previous director "Shabbir A. Syed" is no longer listed as a director - it is now "Aysha Shabbir" who was also one of the original directors some 19 years ago. Note that these names were never mentioned in any press release or information about the game back in the day; rather it was a bunch of fictional Gamebience team members.
