A quick search on Google for "jim laker" sawdust, brings up 3 entries, none of which contain this incident. I would have thought that such an incident would be mentioned in the match report.
Just as a guess, knowing how much Pelham Warner admired the man, you could be talking about John Barton King, better known as Bart King. That's without bothering to look it up though.
