Cricket Quiz

The Gabba Test raised an interesting statistical rarity.
How many times in Tests has Shane Warne bowled in the first innings of a match, but not in the second?

Including the tests where Australia didn't play a second inning, is it 10?

He said he didn't do so because somebody told him he was spamming. I told him, answering a question isn't spamming, and that I won't tell him if he's right unless he posts in the thread. Anyhoo....

Well, there is one instance when he DNB in a match where Australia bowled twice, is that what you are thinking of? In that case the answer would be 1 (the loneliest number).

Thats not a statistical rarity, many bowlers might have not bowled in the second innings of a match.

3?

That would be not batting.

Not 3 and it is a statistical rarity, because it is not common, even if it does happen to many bowlers.

Anyway, I will clarify the question. I am looking for the number of times Warne has bowled in only the first innings, regardless of whether Australia even bowled a second innings.

Also, in case you're wondering the recent Gabba Test isn't one, because Warne did manage to bowl a couple of overs. I mentioned it brought up the point because he very nearly didn't and so it became a topic for discussion.

I was referring to Nightprowler when he said '1' as that isn't a rarity, and you are looking for one...
