Which famous test player for india in the 1980s is yuvrajs dad?
I didn't know Yograj Singh was a FAMOUS test player though... he played a single test as far as I know and that is why he was adamant in making Yuvraj a better player than himself...

New Format for Planetcricket Quiz

I have a suggestion to make this topic organised
I think we should have a system of five teams from
India ::
Pakistan
Australia
NZ
England
to answer the questions
*Each team should be consist of 5 players
*For eg team india could have Aditya123,Sachinisgod,saisrini,indiancricketer,sailesh,etc
*A team should be picked for each week by a team captain .
*Per day there must be a set of 5 questions asked together and the first team to give a correct answer must be avoided with 4 points for each right answer and every wrong answer fetching -1 .
1.)Each day of the week , different teams would have the chance to ask questions .
For example if team india posts questions on Monday , they do not have a chance to answer on monday , if england team posts questions on tuesday they do not have a chance to score points on tuesday etc
2.)At the end of each week, the points tally must be updated .
3.)If there are four teams in the contest , the contest should be played for four days only with each team posting questions once every week !
4.)Each week , the winning team members must receive bonus reputation points as reaward from the Admin .
5.) The Name of the winning team must be posted each week on the planetcricket website in a small section named Planetcricket QUIZ .
If the members agree with this format , Let us begin from tomorrow
Selection of squads starts today .
Enroll yourselves and your teams

PLEASE CONSIDER ME FOR SELECTION IN THE INDIAN QUIZZING TEAM !!!
My likely Indian squad from which a team of 5 for 1st week will be selected is
1.)Sachinisgod (C)
2.)Aditya123 (Vicecaptain)
3.)Sailesh
4.) Enroll now
5.) Enroll now
6.) Enroll

Please post your views quickly on whether u are satisfied with this format !

Pass

And since we haven't got a question going right now:

Who were the first twins to play in the same Test match?

those New Zealand women, you posted this at SportsPLUS or CricketCentral, Andrew can post their names

I think that's a good idea... but I think by making teams of five we'll be denying a lot of interested members the chance to answer the questions... it would be better if we didn't do it in such a structured manner but still try and follow one question at a time format... coz it makes the thread easier and more interesting to read... and the no. of people participating is also not limited... but still I admit apart from this one limitation, ur idea's very good... thanks for the honor bestowed on me over there... :)

btw, I support this repping idea... but only if admins are the ones who are going to rep the ppl - coz obviously it means lotsa green out there :D

brad i assume that ur question's been answered...so an easier one here: who was the first batsman to score a double ton in the first innings and a ton in the second?

"Those New Zealand women" doesn't really constitute an answer

If we're talking Tests, I believe it was Doug Walters

Well...the system is quite complicated but I would love to join! Perhaps, as sachinisgod stated, we could have a less formal structure. Maybe start a new thread (someone who wants to be in control of it) and then whoever wants to ask a question gives it to him and he updates the first post. Maybe that would be less efficient, I don't know. But count me in to India's squad, aditya123.

woops ... sorry brad... n e way will wait for andrew to answer ur question coz he knows the archive in and out... :)

and i don;t think Doug Walters was the one...

There's only 5 that have got a double century and a century in the same Test-

Walters, Chappell, Gavaskar, Rowe and Lara

Walters- v WI 1968/69
Gavaskar- 1970/71, and the double was in the second innings so it doesn't count
Rowe- v NZ 1971/72
Chappell- v NZ 1973/74
Lara- v SL 2001/02

We are talking Tests right? Was Sunny the one you were thinking of?

Wasnt it the Marshall twins just recently against Australia?
They were the first identical twins- the first male twins were the Waugh's, but the answer I wanted was Rosemary and Elizabeth Signal of New Zealand

A related question.

The Marshalls were the first identical twins to play in a Test match, but who were the first identical twins to play in a ODI?
