SkateBoarder said:I agree with you- Doordashan seems quite poor at televising cricket. The BCCI logo is very large and is very annoying, and simple features are missing. The feed has also been lost about 8 times in the first three days of the test. It's a joy to watch South Africa v Australia right now as the presentation is top notch.
Commentary team has been the best in my opinion. Great guys like David Gower, Nasser Hussain, Dean Jones (my favorite!), Javagal Srinath, L.Sivaramakrishnan (the only average guy!) and Ian Botham... Great team I should say!
harishankar, I know you are from Tamil Nadu and probably not very eloquent at Hindi. However, Hindi is the most popular language in India so it does make sense that they show some of it in Hindi as well, as there are more Hindi speaking people than English speaking people in India. Just get on with it. Atleast you get to watch the cricket, forget about the commentary meanwhile.harishankar said:The only problem here is that Doordarshan decides that they're not good enough and force feeds us with Hindi commentary every half hour...
Sahara is still not on air. Even if I'm willing to pay for it I cannot get it, it looks like the cable operators have not yet received decoders for this channel.
Maddening and extremely unprofessional. But what else would you expect from an obscure, third-rate Bollywood masala channel which suddenly sees a golden opportunity to make big money? You expect this...

harishankar said:It takes away the enjoyment of watching the game to such an extent that I stop watching it when Hindi is on... I am quite interested in the commentary, so it sucks to watch without the regular commentators.
Anyway, we get Sahara One from today. I'm not sure what happened, but I guess the cable operators must have come to some agreement...
I noticed, watching the 6 nations on digital a few weeks ago there was a choice of commentaries for the same feed.
