Cricket World Cup Rewind | We have a winner..

Since both Mr Nokkaya and you have declared interest for the Blackcaps, there's two ways to settle this. Either you both can co-manage with each other peacefully or you can PM me a number between 0-100. The one closest to the number I generate will get New Zealand.

All yours. Now you may select a WC squad. The 1996 would easily be first choice for many as its a World Cup winning one. But 2003, 2007 and 2011 aren't far off either.

i can co-manage that team

A few teams have 15 men squad, others have 14. How are you to even things up with that? I mean to say, may I have Lawrence Rowe in the 1979 squad or if I want to select the 1983 one which also had 14 players, may I have Richie Richardson in it to make it a 15 man squad? Rowe played around 1979 and Richardson was present in 1983 at the highest level.

In the case of 14-man squads, managers may add one extra player who played for their team leading up to that particular World Cup or in the same year in which the World Cup was played. So, you're allowed to add Lawrence Rowe or Derick Parry. Otherwise, the managers can simply continue with their 14-man squads if they're satisfied enough with them.

Alright, so its between Umair and Anirudh now. You'll be the co-manager of whoever wins the rights to New Zealand.

Now lets see the numbers. The one I generated was 77. The ones I received :-

Code:
Anirudh's number - 57
Umair's number - 35

Since Anirudh's is closest to mine, he wins New Zealand fair and square. Since that's sorted out, you may get to selecting your WC squad. 2003 was probably the strongest NZ ever assembled, then there was the 1992 one which was very successful before falling to the usual semi-final jinx. 1999, 2007 aren't too bad either but I guess the 2003 one rules supreme on paper.

Hmm congratulations C :( thats why i hate maths :p

If Richie Richardson is not allowed in the 1983 squad, I will take Rowe for the 1979 squad. I think we cannot afford to drop any of our frontline seamer for a specialist spinner. Plus, we have Richards and Gomes who are decent slow bowlers.

If you're talking about 1983, then Richardson is valid for selection in that squad because he did play a match in the same year. Its like I said before, you may add an extra player to a 14-man WC squad if he's played in the same year in which that particular World Cup was held. Okay, I'll add Rowe to your '79 World Cup squad in that case.

Still waiting for England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Rest of the World to confirm their squads. Come on fellas, get to it already. All you gotta do is tell me which one you want and I'll put it up for you myself.

I also have 14 men squad, but I will stick with it as other players for India during 96 were crap! :D

CWC Rewind | SL, please for the love of god, confirm your squad!

Hope the new title makes Sri Lanka's manager hurry things up a bit. :lol

Sad to see the great wall of India is missing from the squad. :(

Actually, India are well within their rights to include him in their squad as it has only 14 players and Dravid did play ODI matches for India in 1996. Back then he was considered too slow for ODI cricket and was thus overlooked for the 1996 World Cup squad. But they seem to be satisfied with 14 players so I'm all good with it anyway.
