Actually, India are well within their rights to include him in their squad as it has only 14 players and Dravid did play ODI matches for India in 1996. Back then he was considered too slow for ODI cricket and was thus overlooked for the 1996 World Cup squad. But they seem to be satisfied with 14 players so I'm all good with it anyway.

I was the manager , I would have chosen Dravid. For India , he is the best batsman after Sachin and probably is a living legend. He was such a classy player , doesn't matter he was slow , his playing style was like that but if he wanted he could have done better (could have rectified his faults which he did late in his career). I'll miss him.

Dravid has now been recognized as 'Greatest Wall', however in reality we really got irritated with Dravid's patience in ODIs during early days. I still remember his 60 runs knock like a test match Vs SA in one of the ODI series in India.

Considering that, it is 1996 era for India in this league - I will stick with the squad without modifications. I have confidence in them.
