Whilst batting, are the gloves compulsory ? I know its stupid, like who would go out to bat without gloves, but still.

If not, does that mean the rules in relation to the contact of the gloves are still in tact or are they nullified ?

I don't think they are compulsory. Just as some players opt for a cap instead of an helmet while playing spinners, wearing the gloves all the time isn't a rule IMO.

Oh okay. But still.

Then what happens to the rules in which involve contact with the gloves ? Are they nullified or somehow still in tact ?

What I said was what I feel, I am not sure about it.

And for this I think that the ball touching at the wrist would have the same meaning as the ball touching the gloves, if they were on.

NO Ollie you are right, a 200 is only 1 hundred. We are just seeing who would have been the leader if it counted as 2.

I was trying to say that I thought a 200 was counted as 2 hundreds rather than one. I know what you were doing above, don't worry I can read and do read the preceding posts to mine.

Can someone do the top 10 hundreds tally if 90 was the new 100?

Ok this is a really random question, but is it compulsory to wear a helmet in junior Cricket match's in India? because is England you have to wear one under the age of 18, not that everyone does when playing in the nets.

Does anyone know the number to send text message to cricinfo so I can receive the latest cricket scores when I'm not home? Any other cricketing sites that offer text messaging service will also do.

Bit of an old post, but I'll post clarity anyway.

The compulsory equipment is dependent on the competition. What is done in junior cricket in England may be different than that in South Africa. Compulsory really only applies to junior grades though, adults are deemed responsible for their actions, so there are no laws on equipment you must have in Test or First Class cricket, but for obvious reasons, they will use it.

The rules state that if a glove is not worn, then the hand applies in exactly the same way. If you really need a definition of the hand, it's that flexible bit at the end of your arm. ;)

In case one needs a runner, the batsmen who have got out come out to run. But, what if no wicket has fallen? How is it decided then?

6? I've only got 3 (thumbs not inclusive) on each hand, I'm not some sort of a mutant.
