Dario Silva

Shocked about the news and I give my best wishes to him and his family.

This doesn't need a seperate thread though, it could go in the 'English Football Thread' though. At least I think it can.

Not really, as he is not currently playing in English football. And he's Uruguayan.

But more importantly, get well soon.

But he played for Portsmouth who are English so it deserves a mention in there.

News now he has had is right leg amputated. :( Aussies might remember him for denying them getting the to 2002 World Cup.

Left leg amputated below the knee actually! :p

Very sad for him, as now his footballing career will be over. Can't think of a worse way to go out. My thoughts are with him.

Yeah. Didn't him play in the World Cup 2006 Qualifier as well?

Shocking news. When I read the thread name I thought I knew him from somewhere.

Best wishes to his family and him.

Sorry to bump...

Dario Silvs is hoping to make a comback withing the next 3-4 months. He's a fighter! He has tremendous mental and physical strength to be able to come back from that. People though his career was over!

Making a comeback with one leg? Come on be serious!

I guess its possible, look at Alex Zanardi the race driver, he lost both his legs and went on to return to top level motorracing, he basically redesigned prosthetic legs himself in the process.

But he doesn't have to run about all over the place.
