DBC 17 - The Complete Review! Please Answer the Poll!

AC13 was not a game, it was a scam.

DBC 17 is a complete game needing a few tweaks and a couple patches due to its ambitious nature.

Anybody comparing AC13 as equivalent to any other game let alone dbc17 loose any credibility to their opinion.

What really annoys me is that there isn't even variation in where the ball goes off the bat. If you look at a game that got bat and ball physics almost perfect (MLB The Show 15,16,17) - depending on your timing, where in the swing arc you hit the ball, what the ball was doing, the physics engine correctly changes the direction of the ball.

In this game, the ball goes in the exact same spots, one of about three that each shot produces, with no variance and no real reliance on timing as to where it goes (timing just impacts power, and sometimes not even that)

There are so many basics of the game that they just didn't even seem to bother with, that it's almost a complete re-write of batting and the AI while batting to make it better.

This is -almost- as bad as Ashes Cricket 13.

I agree to most of the points in the review. But lets not compare DBC17 with other games. DBC17 has its own pros and cons. BA could ve avoided this criticism by releasing the game by mentioning it as early access or devs edition or early edition. It would have prepared the buyers to anticipate for bugs and other sort of things.

You are right. On a scale of badness with 1 being one of the worst ever and 10 being really bad...... Ashes scores a 1 while DBC 17 scores a 3 or 4.....depending on your perspective

Man this thread had so much potential but went down hill very quickly.
While the review did have some good points the comments that followed by anyone who didn't agree 100% with what the OP was saying just took things over the top. Anyway comparing this to AC13 is just absolutely pathetic, and just had to say that while there are some issues with the game expecting BA to not have christmas or new year with their family and instead converge in the office to fix the issues for you is a joke - they are working so hard to bring these niche games to the market and should get our support not our nit picking.

They do not need 10000 threads with what needs to be fixed, one proper one that they can go through and hopefully work on a fix for Patch 3 - or at least the critical stuff.

I just find it weird that many of the complaints that could be seen as nit-picking (not the big bugs etc) and being claimed are show stoppers because the 'grass doesn't change greenery at the same pace' are made by many of the same people that make the Indian team (still with Tendulkar) and alter the players to an overall rating on 100, and yet have the nerve to nit pick about the game not being realistic.

This one should. Bugs thread lists game-breaking bugs but this and thread like these state the issues with the game, especially the batting. Technically batting in DBC 17 is not "game breaking" as you can still play the game but for folks like me and others who consider batting as their primary discipline and the reason why they play cricket video games it's akin to game-breaking. The OP summarises these issues precisely and I don't see a reason why this feedback will not be looked at by Big Ant team.

Yeah I should have made it clearer I was referring to bugs specifically. No idea about general gameplay queries etc
