DBC17 Blobset Tools

Sorry I probably didn't articulate that clearly. I didnt save the entire blobset. But the changes made when creating database_update-0.blobset.pc as instructed in the first post, caused the game to crash on startup.
Have you got the latest update version? The first version had a bug.

As francobaldo1 said, You don't replace any of the original blobset file's, just save the "database_update.blobset.pc" to the games directory.

Yup. I have the update, and repeated the following step

To create a (database_update-0.blobset.pc) file with all the modded files select Create Blobset and save it to the DBC17 game directory - (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Don Bradman Cricket 17).

After which the game crashed before the opening splash screen, and Steam could not reconcile the file, forcing a complete redownload of the entire blobset. It's fine, because I backed up my game directory, but something is amiss.

It doesnt make sense to me why it would do that, but /shrug. It did.

To clarify, I did not replace the entire blobset. All I did was run the tool. But the changes made when creating database_update-0.blobset.pc as instructed in the first post, caused the game to crash on startup.

i think if steam failed to validate the files, then some of them was missing. Were all the 3 blobset in the folder with the original names?
edit: sorry didnt see your last reply

The only reason steam will update a file is if the original file was a different size or missing, It won't do any repairing if there was a added file that didn't come with the game.

Can you tell what files you added to the DBC17Mods folder.

Also you need to add all the folders as well as the dds file going off the whitelist.txt.

I'm not at my PC at the moment so can't verify the folder structure, however it was DDS file for the Bangladesh logo I made for testing with. I'm certain the file structure was correct inside the DBC17Mods folder.

Come to think of it. It didnt seem significant at the time, however I did have to run the tool twice. The first time it flashed an error about file sizes. But the second time I ran it, it completed successfully.

Next time you see a error, just make a screen shot of it. It's strange that you had a file size error, the only way that could happen is if the the created blobset file was over 4gb in size which would go over the uint offset limit.

Actually I think the problem is the folder structure isn't correct, because if it isn't the hashpath match will fail and give a false value.

Hi Wouldbeinta, I've followed all your instructions and created a blobset in the game directory and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working. I didn't get any errors so was wondering if the paths are correct or if I'm missing anything.

I'm not sure what's going without having the game to test it. I can't even test it on the demo version because it doesn't read the update blobset only the retail version does.

No worries. Although the way it is at the moment I'm not sure the retail version is reading the update blobset file.

Ok I have update the blobset creator to version 0.0.1.2.

I spotted a problem with the txpk location strings, it had a extra character.

Is that what could have caused our issues?

@BigAntStudios

As this thread has peeked my interest, I wonder if you could clarify something for me.

As the current test build of the PS4 firmware supports a USB storage feature, could texture modding of the PS4 install feasibly work if transferred by USB onto a PC? I'm guessing not as Sony would probably encrypt the data, but it's worth asking.
