dbc17 hacks: fearsome tweak v1.51

@Dutch nice

Well, here is the first day of the "Langeveldt Cup", AI vs AI match betweeen England - South Africa. I have to say
the result was really good. After i set the settings, i didnt have to change much. After 5 overs, i increase the aggression
of Stephen Cook. Some of the usual problem of the AI, but nothing was bad.

I've just had some minor work done to celebrate this momentous occasion ...

@francobaldo1 The video looks superb. If it executes well (jury is out after eight overs) then it's above cricket captain realism. We can make a Graeme Smith who shovels to the legside or a Handscombe who stays back. It's almost football manager level potential.

It just begs the question why with the academy it's taken Franco to unlock this. I guess most people aren't as difficult as me when it comes to realism, but the potential was all there in the game.

Just a question, if SA are 272/8, how do you know which batsmen is which? Is it still batsman 1 and 2? Or does it change to 8 and 9?

Thanks for the video franco.

It's interesting that you had a batsman getting out with an ugly smash to cover. In all my test matches using the tool, despite the AI not making decent scores, all the wickets were bowled/lbw/caught wicket keeper or slips. I think I do probably bowl a lot better than the AI does which might have something to do with it. :p

Edit: Oh, I did also have a bouncer fended off and caught at leg-gully. Still a genuine test wicket and looked awesome.

yes, having a lot of fun. Top moment for me was the shot at 13:58. That, and Amla off the mark with a 4.
First wicket not really memorable, but it looked realistic if you see the entire over, with S.Cook getting impatient. Just hoping
the AI keeps bowling well, but i will try to keep the things interesting. Any suggestion for the mentality of SA?
their lineup is:
Cook,Elgar,Amla,Duminy,Faf,Bavuma, De Kock,Philander,Abbot,Steyn,Morkel,Tahir.

Batsman 1 and 2 means the batsmen on the field. So, if the number 8 is on strike, you can press the button "batsman 1", change
the settings, and then "set for this batsman". Now he will be considered batsman 1. On top left corner you can see
the info about the batsman, for example:
B1: 15
B2: 12
BC: 12

it means that the batsman with ID number 15 is considered batsman1, the 12 is b2. The batsman at the crease
is batsman2.

I guess mentality is a bit of an academic point when you have such fine detail over their shot selection. This is what I would say for a test match, but it's not a science.

Duminy and de Kock love driving, particulary square of the wicket, Cook and Elgar are your nuggety glancers, although Elgar sometimes goes over the top. Faf plays all around the crease, Bavuma plays a lot to leg. Philander has a balanced game. The others are wildcards, Steyn can dig in for a while.

Cook - Conservative
Elgar - Balanced/Conservative
Duminy - Balanced/Aggressive
Faf - Conservative
Bavuma - Precise
De Kock - Aggressive
Philander - Precise
Abbot - Conservative
Steyn - Balanced
Morkel - Balanced
Tahir - Balanced

I have the same image association. Every time I see Joe Root being interviewed after a match I half expect him to announce a new update for the Fearsome Tweak Hack. Anyway, nice to see you @francobaldo1.

@blockerdave the beard is the only difference

@Spoobir is the AI good at bowling at Legend? it would be great to try to manage the batsman, like in Cricket Captain, and see what score you can get.
I'm interested in this kind of data, but dont have much time to try. Even the first 20 over of a Test is good.[DOUBLEPOST=1506849297][/DOUBLEPOST]

Alright, a session of AI vs AI on legendary difficulty. I was running the Fearsome Tweak hack at the same time and had a few issues with crashes early on, including after one wicket right as the new batsman was about to walk in, but after some attempts I managed to get everything loaded and running fine.

Pitch was a belter for batting but for some reason South Africa felt like having a bowl and paid the price.

Since I'm not too sure about the batting styles of the Bangladesh players I pretty much used the same shot selections for all of them. Gradually increasing things like pulling and driving as they spent more time at the crease. Here's what Kayes' shot selections looked like at lunch:

While I feel the AI on legendary does bowl a higher percentage of good deliveries, they still throw down way too much leg-side dross for my liking and look pretty nonthreatening a lot of the time (although pitch was great for batting like I said). The AI batsman also still hit the ball in the air a fair amount even with aggressive shots turned completely off. Not sure if this is just down to their generally poor timing or it's some feature to try and help them score at a faster rate.

Wicket was pretty nice so I decided to get the replay:

thanks mate, i agree that the AI has some problems when bowling. Might be also because of the way the bowlers are
chosen? and because of the fields.
However i am sure it's possible to create "sliders" for the bowlers too (like in Cricket Captain), so you can choose how
to bowl.

Here is the second part of the Langeveldt Cup. It was delayed because the save file disappeared (first time it happens) but
i have recreated it with my scenario editor. It's longer but it's interesting. In the first 10 minutes it doenst happen much.

Very interesting, and some sloppy cricket too. I wonder what results would be like on veteran? Really wish I had a gaming PC at the moment :(

I can do the England batsmen characteristics if you want them @francobaldo1
