Dec 16-20: 3rd Test - Australia v England at Perth

Wow, nobody expected that from the Aussie pace attack. Brilliant bowling!

flingkkkkkk yeahhhhhh

Eat it England, go home :wave

lol, good stuff TumTum!! Aussies should finish it off quickly tomorrow. Man, these last two tests are going to be absolute crackers.

Meanwhile in the game between 1 v 2....

More like superb bowling from the Aussies. The batting form Eng had coming into this match, it would have and has taken something special to destroy them.

Awesomme. But most of the australian fans all should just sit back and let the selectors wield their magic. Johnson, Hussey, Siddle, Harris have all been awesome in the series. Sticking with Hussey has been rewarding.

Not sending Johnson to the shield level had TONS of people angry, but it has certainly paid off.

Selectors are like Johnson. AWESOME and can be CRAP

Hughes?? North??

So...England's away record excluding this series : They've lost their last 2 series in India, lost their last series in Sri Lanka. Excluding Pakistan who've been quite poor, can they not play in the subcontinent ? Again, now they have a fast bouncy track they've more or less lost to the Aussies in this test. Drew their last series in South africa.

If they're to be the No.1, they have a long way to go. Fact is, almost all the teams these days are very strong at home and weak away.

While I credit the first innings to some really good deliveries, I do think this is more about England under pressure and making poor decisions as a result. The bowling from Harris and Johnson has been maybe a bit faster and more emphatic, also the catching has been more effective, but outside of the context, it should have been easier to face. It's funny to think England were 3/82 at the same stage of the 1st innings.

Yeah, although South Africa have been pretty good with wins in England and Australia even if it was a while ago.

True. However, on spinning tracks they're poor. Paul Harris isn't gonna rip anyone apart. They're missing a top quality spinner. If they get that, they'd probably be the undisputable No.1.

What I'm saying is, everyone is quick to jump on the bandwagon when teams in the subcontinent like India fail outside. Simple fact is, I can't remember when England last won a series in India and Sri Lanka. They lost to India at home in 2007. They've had a great record in England, there's no disputing that. However, their record outside England isn't great.

The state of Test cricket at the moment means that people should really forget about the rankings. So many little things will tip the balance of a given contest.

I also tend to think a team's rank doesn't represent their current performance very well anyway. Their ratings are based on the full 4 year cycle. A team can drop and recover in performance much quicker than that.

True true true. Everyone accepts that the top 5 teams are very close to each other in ability. Fact is, all the teams are struggling outside home conditions.

I'm actually quite glad Australia are putting up a fight. 2-0 by Christmas would have been a total anti-climax.
1-1 going to Melbourne on the other hand is perfectly poised.

I think you just have to put your hand up as an England supporter and say yep, well done, pretty big to come back at us like they have done and the Aussies deserve to be in the position they are in. It will indeed make a cracking Boxing Day test. I just wonder whether England can re-group, not panic and come back just as hard. Is there any news yet on the Ponting injury?

Not Australia with South africa and vice versa.

Both smashed each other in the away conditions... lol

But point taken.

Amazing performance by Australia, Mike Hussey was ecstatic and Watto did a great job too. And pacers just ripped through their lineup, watched the highlights and bowling was superb to say the least.
