Well Broady didn't get the hattrick ball but England are suddenly all over the Aussies. They have discovered a slightly shorter length that is causing all sorts of problems for the Aussies at he mo.....it's all relative of course as the Aussies are 75 ahead with four wickets remaining but it offers a glimpse.

Well the one small light point of the innings for England
England have a tricky 25 minutes to face on this second day. If they don't bat at least five sessions this game is gone. Smith was a machine and really went after Anderson at the end. Just couldn't get his 150 but scored just about the same amount of runs as the whole England team!

The most irritating aspect of this game is the tail ender batting. I hope they get that fixed because seeing the likes of Lyon drive neatly through the covers or through long on is a pain in the arse. But as Ed Smith has made clear: getting selected comes with arse pain.
