Dec 26-30: 4th Test - Australia v England at Melbourne

Interesting use of the DRS there although what would have happened if that wasn't a no ball, then England lose that call.

I don't think so because it was the umpires call. It wouldn't count towards to England's review total, or at least it shouldn't.

But a great job by Dar, hopefully he has a word with the match ref about Ponting acting like a jack ass.

Brad Hodge, Callum Ferguson and Cameron White need to be put in this team. Take out Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, and Steve Smith

The ones that need to go are Hughes, Smith and Hilfenhaus. Aussies need to bring in a spinner for Hilfy and my choice would be Hauritz because he has shown more than any other spinner in domestic cricket.
Bring in Khawaja for Hughes and a specialist batsman for Smith.

How long are we going to wait for either Ponting or Clarke to make a big score? Sure they have been wonderful batsman throughout their careers, but it's simple, they aren't performing right now, so why keep someone in the team when they're out of form. Hodge, Ferguson and White have all been playing some splendid cricket at state level, so why not give them a run in this test side. Atleast that gives Ponting and Clarke a rest, and shows them that they have to perform better to get back into this side.

I agree with you there, Hauritz needs to be in the side. He is our only specialist spinner we have, Smith needs more years to develop.

Been hearing about that decision by Ponting. How big was the hot spot speck on Pieterson's bat ? Was it inconclusive or something ?

Nothing to do with the hotspot, it was entirely due to Aleem Dar breaking the pre-tour agreement of accepting Ponting's word on whether any decision is out or not.

I watched that live and I could see nothing on Pietersen's bat in hotspot. What was funny is I could've sworn I heard a noise on the replay and it could only have been an inside edge because KP's bat was miles from his pads. But hotspot as far as I could see and Snicko showed nothing.

When it happened in real time, only Haddin was interested, and Ponting went by his word and called for the review. Well, we all know Haddin's record when it comes to honesty and reviews.

I don't know what the hell has gone wrong with Aussies. How can they collapse on 98. The wickets was a bit tricky but still did not warrant this performance. Australia can only win now, if Matt prior ca be miraculously substituted with Kamran Akaml
Coming to Ponting's outburst, I think he has no right to take out the frustration of losing the ashes on the umpires. He should handed out a ban for this.

HODGE IS RETIRED FROM FIRST CLASS CRICKET!

How many times do I have to say it? Even in the know cricket fans are calling for his inclusion :facepalm. This is starting to drive me up the wall.

With this bolwing from Smith, he will never ever gets wicket :facepalm

LMAO, and this is why Australia need a spinner, not a very raw 21 year old legspinner with an awkward action and who bats at 6...

Althought tbf, if Hauritz had played England probably would have just been 400/6 instead of 442/5

So is Warnie :p people asked for his inclusion and they nearly talked him into it. Nothing is never possible

Smith is not a bad bowler. Just needs some experience. What australia need are people with ground techique. From commentators it sounds like Maddinson and Khawaja have a good technique. Look at Watson, he's basically a textbook of cricket. Hughes on the other hand well... *insert analogy here*

Hodge didn't perform well in the Test Team i think. I don't think the selectors will ever dump a batsman just cos he is hated in the team...
