The DCs lack an Indian star, they may have the best overseas players but the Indians are the ones who make the difference in the IPL.
I won't be surprised if they don't manage to reach the semis this time.

Sangakkara was the ideal choice. The other two contenders were Pietersen and White, but White isn't that famous in India. He can hardly manage to get the crowd going. Regarding Pietersen, I guess there were some availability issues.

Deccan have yet to win a match in Hyderabad, IIRC. Let's hope that changes Saturday.

Ugh. I thought India's WC would help me feel indifferent to this IPL, but it hasn't. I'm still as pissed as I was during that putrid showing at the auction.
We bought Cameron White when we could have had ABD for the same price. We payed 900K for Dan Christian when we could have had ZaK for the same price. We only bought one Indian batsmen. We left 2+ mils on the table (and that's sheer stupidity. It may save these greedy ass owners a few bucks in the short term, but in the long term, it'll hurt the franchise brand value. DC is already the least valuable IPL team by a solid margin).
We still have some good players, and if the young Indians in the squad step up, we can make the top 4, but if I had to guess, I'd say DC's headed for a 5-9 or 6-8 season.

Though I am not DC fan, I am feeling pity for them. From Cricket analyst view, I have some suggestions for DC---
Deccan Chargers will never improve in their batting. Most disappointing batsmen were Daniel Christian and Shikhar Dhawan. Sohal and Chipli are inconsistent. They are too much dependent on Sangakkara.
Its time to bring on Harmeet Singh, Juan Theron, Michael Lumb. Duminy is a good option ahead of Christian in coming games. Dwarka Ravi Teja is just wasting no. 7, Harmeet should come, so they can bolster their bowling.
