Review Demo impressions thread

It's been noted quite a bit, I'd be surprised if the guys at TG/Codies don't know about this, it's been said several times on here, in several places.

If you take a look at the different mods for all other cricket games, and the in built editor in A09, it's looking pretty certain that there will be plenty of kits/ad boards/custom sounds/field editors, as well as possible changes to the gameplay. BLIC 07 was the least friendly of all past cricket games though when it came to modding, especially the gameplay, all that could be done in that respect was changing player values to stop high run rates. EA's games are only really playable with patches, but once changed they are 10x the game they are out the box.

I'm confident that there will be plenty of custom content for A09, especially for the PC.

Lets just say, AbBh is working on a technique where if he succeeds, he shall be effortlessly able to mod AC09 or any other game, even in graphical aspects.

only the 3rd run which they couldn't complete is obviously canceled.

dont worry.this is no glitch in the game.maybe a glitch in the actual game implemented in it lol

Have replayed EA's Cricket 2004, 2005 and 07 and BLIC '05 & 07 to refresh my memory and I have to say Ashes Cricket 2009 plays very well in comparison. It is the only cricket game, since Brian Lara '99, which I genuinely love bowling in. I can't wait for the 7th August!!

Have anyone got outside edge of a defensive shot and got out?

I have been caught bat and pad off a spinner playing a forward defensive shot.I have also been caught playing a cover drive using the normal attacking shot (not lofted) because I mistimed and plopped the ball up in the air for a simple catch.

There are many more variables with edges than any other version of cricket games I have played.

I don't actually think this is indicative of Test match play in the full game: it reminds me of Twenty/20 in whites, especially the way the computer plays.

Edit: Awful batting by the human batting player! He tried to hit everything in the air when there were gaps in the field and he could've hit some safe shots along the ground. It's good that it was punished by losing five wickets.

Edit: Can someone post a video of spin bowling with many close in fielders around the bat?

There is an extremely high possibility of me ordering the game on release!! It all comes down to the PC demo, but I'm sure it won't disappoint.

That'd be ideal. I just want to see if wheeling out a spinner and surrounding the batsman is the 'insta-wicket' it has been in many cricket games of the past.

yea with the horrible animations of the close in fielder sudden appearing under the ball out of no where. Ea 07 was the worst, I could take all 10 wickets with Warne consistently when I used this tactic.

He's the author of many excellent patches/mods for EA Cricket 07 as far as I remember.

I have tried it nothing happens on the contrary they hit you in the gap and their defense is pretty solid and goes to ground. No ea type bug

As the release date is so close, i do not expect a lot of improvements suggested in this thread making it to the game. But i wish Transmission guys are already working on the patch after reading al these suggestions to correct the bugs which they have forgotten to fix in the final build. That way they can release a patch on the release day and thus it wont affect our gameplay. A win win situation for both transmission and us:happy:happy:happy
