Review Demo impressions thread

Downloaded this or Xbox 360 this morning, I am impressed, I can't bat as England, i'm 50-50 with Australia :p. The graphics are amazing, even better in HD. Bring on Whenever I get this game :p

Is it just me or is it freekin impossible to take catches in this game? I mean it gives you a second for the red ring, then half a second for the orange on....and the you blink your eyes and you missed the green.

Its seriously annoying, I drop at least 5 catches a game and even the orange circle is pretty much just like the ring - drop them also..

you didn't see any yellow ring??? :noway

I think it is safe to assume the AI are not overly aggressive if you bowl a good line and length and also try to stop the bowling meter in the 'perfect' segment.

Check the first 11 overs I bowled against the Aussies here...hard level btw

I downloaded the demo the other day and played it soon after it had finished downloading. I didn't post them because I was so angry with codies. Several days later I am still angry. 3 bloody overs! Do you bloody well think I have nothing better to do than download your twattish 3 over demo? French Connection UK you Codemasters, I don't care how good or bad the demo is, I'm not buying it because you have wasted my time. What the hell type of decision do you expect me to have formed in 3 sodding overs.

Screw you, I hope you all get Swine Flu and die!

Overreacting a tad Kev? You can always get the Demo Expander an play for unlimited overs...

Nope, not bothering to download it. Sorry to whoever worked on the expander, but Codies can go hang for the insult.

didnt you know it was 3 overs before downloading?
u were the 1 who wasted your time with it

btw which segment is the perfect one ? The most lightest shade or the one in between ?
I assumed that taking the meter to its full (before the red segment ofcourse)
gives us the best chance of getting batsmen out.. Is that correct?

Coz I wold actually pay $2 to restrict them to that score in 11 overs.

lol :D

Indeed, you are correct, just before the red 'no ball' section is where you want to stop the bowling meter to give yourself the best chance of restricting/forcing an error from the AI batsmen.

When the circle is yellow, it's a good ball. Dark green is bad.

Also very true, but I have found that you can place the bowling pitch indicator in the lighter green sections and still get the batsmen to defend/leave/miss/play a rash shot if you stop the bowling meter in this aforementioned 'perfect' spot.

Bowl in the really dark green areas and stop the meter anywhere before the 'perfect' spot and you're asking for trouble, in hard mode anyway. As it quite rightly should be IMO.

Obviously not.

In the 3 overs I did play it seemed to me that probably after about 10 I'd have pwned the batting (maybe thats what they were worried about with such a shitty demo) so probably it's saved me bothering buying the game anyway.

Just out of curiosity, which skill level did you play on Kev?

Only had 1 option, chose test match and Normal I believe was the choice. Didn't bother playing a second time.

First 2 overs I wasn't very good at all. Couple of chances went to slip, which they didn't take. Mind you my controller didn't match up with the controls onscreen, so I didnt really know which shot I was playing. Once I had figured it out (in the final over) I just had a slight feeling that it wouldn't be very hard to bat.
