Story Difference between a Average story and a Good one

Come up with your own ideas as it makes it look a lot more better and more interesting to read!

I think thats a key issue. Briggsey's story was probably the most alternative story made for a long while and it has attracted great interest.

I also dont think the standard of graphics you have is too major either! Its the content of the story and how interesting it is, the pictures are just there to make it more interesting! So dont be too put off if you feel you are insuperior to those gifted enough to have great graphics cards!!

Again I agree. Although i try and work my images over with a lot of editing. My graphics card is average and i dont use photoshop or paintshop to edit my pics. I dont use any flash methods. However BrettLees images are superb.

and also im not really liking the idea of 3 threads for one story where in two of the threads people are asking for members to sign up to various teams, and then in the other is the actual story, try and keep those others in the same thread as the main story!

That is one thing im trying to control. To be honest at first i liked the idea of people being involved in selecting stories and being part of the game. However these games are then filled with so many posts telling the head of the game to play the game and move on. Which makes it hard to read and over time very annoying to find the quality posts. Over time these threads tend to die out quickly because the game never actually gets played.

Great post Briggsey

I agree and I apologise that I once did those things with my story, but I beleive that any story should be in a single thread,so that it is easier for the readers and also it is unneccesary, well done.

-Imporvise. If say a player has been dropped by the CPU for a strange reason, go ahead and say he was under the wheather or had a family issue or a slight injury. If a bug occurs, say...LBW to a slower half-trekker/leaving a straight ball, avoid a screenshot or say something was in their eyes. Some screenies go missing? Technical problems. Make it all part of the story.

To each their own, but I prefer the story rather than interviews. Too many interviews, articles, etc., gets to be a bit of nuisance. I agree that people shouldn't leave stories in the middle, but sometimes they have no choice. Take me for example. My story thread went on for a good 20+ pages, but I abandoned it because I just couldn't get myself to play C2K4 anymore, plus I had so many other commitments continuing the story thread would've taken a toll on something.

Also, I found it more interesting when the story teller played as more than one nation. I remember Jazz's Twenty20 tournament, it was a very exciting story thread. Too bad he didn't keep it going.

I think the interview thing is personal preference, if it is done well then it can add to the story, a good example of this is MWaugh, his post and pre match interviews are spot on and include pics to make it more engaging. Sometimes people just write a lot which isnt always good quality so it is detremental to the storys popularity.

in theory its a good idea. however from what ive seen of people trying to play as more than one team is that it takes a long time to finish the games so it leads to the thread being abandoned half way through. but i agree. jazz's story was one of the best ive seen

While we're at it, let me throw a question your way. Is it okay to make a Stick Cricket story thread? Or is this section reserved for EA and Codemasters games?

im not 100% sure what stick cricket is but your more than welcome to start a stick cricket story thread. i cant see any reason why stick cricket wouldnt be ok. youve made very good stories in the past nightprowler (the pakistani season vs england was great)
