Domestic Cricket

News from England
Pakistani Leg Spinner, Mushtaq Ahmed, has agreed a new two year contract will Sussex County.
Read it here.

probably a question for Andrew,

Who is the best team in English County currently? like Australia are #1 in international cricket and Manchester United and Arsenal are on top in English football..so I wonder which English county team is on top these days?

Why, Lancashire of course

Seriously, these days it's probably between Sussex, Surrey and Lancahire in four day cricket.

In one day cricket it's probably between Surrey and Gloucestershire, but Gloucestershire will miss Ian Harvey next year, and Lancashire could challenge well, with the addition of Dominic Cork.

News From Australia

Canadian World Cup hero John Davison showed that his World Cup performance wasn't a fluke with an excellent performance for South Australia in the ING cup earlier today.

Opening the batting he scored 59 of 63 balls, his first 50 in Australian domestic one dayers.

When bowling he took an excellent 5/26, his best bowling performance in all cricket.

It's strange, he'd hardly done anything before the World Cup. An overnight sensation at the age of 33! Just goes to show that you're never too old!

News From Australia

In the match between South Australia and New Zealand, Canadian John Davison scored 84, his highest first class score, and the highest ever first class score by a Canadian.
