Wasim Akram has quit Hampshire for health reasons

He has diabetes and has been ill for a few months, missing 3 of Hampshire's county championship games.

Kent player Ed Smith has become the first player to pass 1000 runs for the English first class season.

He reached the milestone when he got to 194 against Lancashire. He was eventually dismissed for a career best of 203 by Carl Hooper.
 
Doesn't look good for Surrey in the National League first division.

Also from next year the Twenty20 cup will have a quarter final stage. The top 2 from each group and the 2 best runners up will qualify.
Cool...This'll make Twenty20 even more better. B)
 
I'd like to see it expanded to 20 teams, bringing in Scotland and maybe Holland or Ireland. If you played that in 4 groups of 5, it would eliminate the need to have best runners up.
 
I've just been to see Surrey beat Gloucestershire by 60 odd runs. Fantastic match under the lights at the Oval leaving Surrey 4 points clear at the top of the first division.
