Don Bradman Cricket 17 PAX Live Stream Discussion

The EB Games website has the release as 22nd of December too.

I think the decision to postpone one week is not that bad. People will be paying $10 for Mario thats coming out. One week down the line the game would be worn out. The smaller region can then be focussed. Also I think that since there is no trailer publicity done that could be one factor too

4000 INR on consoles, still thinking what would be the Steam price.

It's totally unknown territory. I think it could bring some benefits (it's likely to have a bigger impact in the charts and all storefronts because it will literally be the only new game out) BUT it's completely without precedent: games just don't get released that close to Xmas. All the websites have gone onto Xmas shutdown by then, so there will be next to no coverage (but then it didn't get any real coverage last time... so no harm?). The bigger issue I think is that most people will be totally spent up that week on Xmas, with payday potentially a week or so away: so even if you get visibility, people are more likely to think "I'll wait until the new year - might be cheaper then anyway" etc.

It's an old circular argument I've had many times - "No-one releases them then, because games don't sell well in that period", "How do you know, because no-one releases them?", "That's because they don't sell well".

Will be really interesting to see.

Makes sense.

When DBC14 vame out, I know the Big Ant guys were aimijg for a Boxing Day release. Unfortunately, I believe that turned out to be too ambitious at such late notice (stupid Ashes 13).

The reason was that Boxing Day is the biggest shopping day in Australia. Also, cricket very much front of mind. So for me, the 22nd kind of makes sense.

That's great, the very next day after my birthday :P
