Story Dream to Represent Team India|| A career Story||[UPDATE: OUR BOWLERS TURN OUT TO BE EPIC FAIL]

Nopes! I'll stick to a simple presentation like What Short_Leg did.:)
Simple and small updates in easy language, less images and simple language.

Good Luck! I liked the way you presented the interview. Neat & Clean. You can do the same while presenting other things as well. Just leave a line or two after a pic or a para. It will look much better.

I'm hoping no one has a go at me here. I'm very scared. :(

Nets Sessions and some natural Exercises.
Date: 29th October, 2009.
Place: Hyderabad.

Our Nets session finally started at Gymkhana Grounds. We had a pretty fair warm up session and after that, we had little gossip for about 15 minutes on the India VS Australia Matches going on. Then, we had our main thing started. Our pace bowlers were bowling at decent pace, and I was enjoying my game! Pragyan Ojha was the busiest guy as he was the best bowler.

VVS Laxman at Nets.

It was Shoaib Maqsusi, who was bowling to me at mid 120's. I just played my cricket. I kept on defending the good ones and punished the ones which deserved to. He bowled me a deadly bouncer, which I just tried hitting Sir Sachin's Upper cut blindly, but it connected somehow:D:banana2. I mainly punished Fast bowlers in the area between extra cover and Mid off, which I got to know when my Coach showed me using his laptop. I faced around 7 overs, in which I hit 34 balls in that area.

Then, I was to face Munugala Praneet Arjun. He was a slow bowler, and the mat on which I was playing supported spin bowling in past. So, I was instructed to be bit careful.

He started bowling fullers, but I just ducked them. But after about 2 overs I faced him, I just went after him! Whenever he bowled a fuller, I lofted it high. I was pretty confident that they wouldn't travel the distance, but yet, to distract the bowlers concentration, I lofted them high! I was respecting some deliveries which turned well, but, smashed the arm balls. And I was amazed to see him bowling a bouncer.:yes:p:laugh.

After about 8 overs, I came out of nets. Our coach Venkatapathi Raju and Laxman asked me to get my bat along with me. They showed me how actually to face some sorta deliveries, which I attempted wrong. I was amazed to see the technology being used to show whats the mistake I've done! Then, some media persons were waiting for our coach and Captain.

I was there listening to our coach and captain. The answer when Media personnel asked about me from Venkatapahi Raju was pretty fair.

Venkatapathi Raju said:
Prithvi is a pretty fair batsmen I've seen. He can do even well if he improves in certain areas. But, he's bit impatient. But at times, he gets that great patience, with which, opponents get frustrated. He's bit natural. We suggest our players to use gym equipment to get fit, but he just chooses a tree with fruits, gets all the fruits down pretty quick. And he even does Yoga daily, which is pretty awesome and now a days, how often do you find a youngster performing Yoga? He's a natural person and he wants to live natural.

Then, we had a pretty good fielding session, and our team manager, Rathod came up and said that our Pacers will be heading to Chennai the next morning for a two day camp at MRF pace foundation.

You punished the fast bowlers? Yes, that indeed proves that we don't have a fast bowler at all :p When a newbie in cricket can punish you all over, you(so called fast bowler) can retire himself from the all forms of cricket. :D

Hyderabad team don't have a good recognized fast bowler.
Only what we have is good batting and Spin bowling!
Laxman, Rayudu, Arjun, Ravi, and now a days Suman even is playing good cricket.:)
Spinners, Ojha is no.1, MP Arjun turns it good:).
And there is nothing else in Hyderabadi cricket now!:yes

Watching too much IPL these days? Sending bowlers to MRF pace academy. :p

Nice update. :)

Sumanth Starts Causing Legal Troubles.

Date: 30th October, 2009.
Place: At Stadium.

I was along with Arjun Yadav and Pragyan Ojha in the stadium. A postmaster walked in and handed a letter to the reception. It was forwarded to HCA Manager Rathod, who was shocked to see that letter. It was a legal notice from Bodapathi Sumanth, asking the HCA to show the reason for canceling his contract at midst. He approached court and the hearing was scheduled on 31st October, for which, our Manager, after having a chat with the HCA president, appointed a lawyer for ourselves.

The Hearing was scheduled the next day, and if at all Bodapathi Sumanth wins that, my contract was to expire 'cause my contract was the replacement contract for Sumanth. I was in troubles, but yet, our manager uttered me some motivational words ,"We'll be winning the case 'cause we've got everything legal and correct. We've banned him and canceled his contract as it was in the new rules amended by BCCI, couple of months ago.

I remained sleepless all that night. But the words of our manager made me bit comfortable and somehow, I slept at night 01:30.

Date: 31st October, 2009.
Place: At the Court.

Both the parties were invited on the bone, and their lawyer started
"HCA has been rude towards my client. They've banned him and canceled his contract for having a glass of drink before the start of the match."
Our Lawyer started," Well, can I interrupt, your Honor?"
Judge said" Proceed."
Our lawyer said," Well, they're saying that he had a drink! But what was that. It was alcohol. The bottle is being sent to you. It cleanly states that it has alcohol. So, according to law 57.2 in BCCI rule book, he deserves a ban!"
Judge asked if the Bodapathi Sumanth had anything to say. Sumanth had nothing. Few minutes of case, and I was shocked to see a court case in India getting finished within 5 minutes!

I was pretty happy person, informed my parents what all happened:).

:laugh; sumanth:facepalm even if he did win, you could've sued your team for giving you a contract and not fulfilling it.:)

I'm loving all these career diaries that are popping up every where! Really good presentation, good use of pictures!

Selection Problems for The First Game.
Date: 2nd November, 2009.
Place: At Shamshabad Recreation Ground.

For this year, our ground was decided to be the Shamshabad Recreation Ground 'cause the construction work of the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium was going on. Thank god, that news flashed to us like a word from god 'cause the home team never had a win at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. We all went to that ground. It din't had many stands. There were only two stands, and there was a building for the match officials. The pitch was looking good and Laxman went and tested the pitch. He declared that the pitch was going to be even both for batsmen and bowlers.

The Shamshabad Recreation Ground.

We had our bowlers coming from Chennai that day and even our opposition team, Himachal Pradesh arrived along with our pacers from Chennai. We welcomed them and then started the selection headaches. I was pretty confident that I won't be given any chance in the playing XI 'cause we had some great players like VVS Laxman, Arjun Yadav, Tirumalasettti Suman, Ravi Teja, Ambati Rayudu, Ibrahim Khaleel, etc etc, who can bat far better than me.

Laxman along with Arjun Yadav and our Coach Venkatapathi Raju had a great discussion and decided that I'll be playing in the first XI:banana2. Ambati Rayudu's groin injury was expected to heal but they did not wanted to take any chances to play Ambati Rayudu with half healed Injury. But if I was to replace Ambati Rayudu, I was to open the Hyderabad Innings! OMG! Laxman came up to me and asked whether I can open or not. I had bit fear in me, but I recollected the mountain Dew ad Darr Ke Aage Jeeth Hain and I accepted the challenge. It was the Ranji Trophy curtain raiser, and what a big game for me to debut.

VVS Laxman spoke to media about the team selection, and he announced that I'll be making my debut in the next game.
VVS LAXMAN said:
Well, we've decided our actual line up, but it may see some changes in the little future. We've decided to play Prithvi, the new young kid, who'll be replacing Ambati Rayudu. Ambati Rayudu's groin injury is expected to heal tomorrow but we don't want to take any chances by playing Ambati Rayudu with Half Healed injury and lose him for the rest of the tournament.

I had a pretty fair batting practice, but OMG!. Maqsusi, against whom I enjoyed batting couple of days ago was making me frustrate that day! He bowled at a whooping pace of 135:eek:. I hit some fullers over square leg just by placing the bat by holding on its blade:p. It was a tough practice session to me personally 'cause I din't had satisfaction. We had a good lunch and we discussed bit about our game plans for the next day. But when I came out with bat for second and last session of practice session, I had a pretty satisfactory session. I mainly attacked the pacers in Mid off region and Square leg region. Of course, I hit some shots even in the other areas, but these were the regions which I dominated! I faced about 25 overs after lunch and I punished about 120 deliveries in those two regions.

But when spinners started bowling me, I not only had a decent session, but the one which maximized my confidence levels too. I faced about 10 overs, in which I assumed that I hit 7 boundaries and 1 six with the help of knowing power I used while hitting 'em! I really enjoyed banging MP Arjun all round the park! Whenever he bowled me some tricky ball, I just attempted some newly invented T20 Shots like DilScoop, come of which connected blindly:banana2.

Our coach Venkatapathi Raju appreciated me all everyone for attempting such type of shots when I received some tricky deliveries at nets. And he warned everyone including me not to attempt those type of shots in match at any cost as a small mistake can cost a match.

I called it a day by receiving some good comments, and I was on fire to keep up their faith in me!

Venkatapathi Raju!!! The epic bowler of 96 periods. :p Go to one pace academy where genuine quick bowlers are there & practice your batting there.
