Nice work Binnu,Maybe add few pics of the players playing like VVS Laxman. Finding pics of other ranji players can be a bit hard. I guess you will score A(1 to 10)
 
The Slow second Innings Start.​
Place: Shamshabad Recreation Ground.
Date: 5th November, 2009.
Time: 13:30 Hour, IST.

I was on fire to score a decent total, to get some good impression over the few people, who follow Ranji Trophy. I had a small chat with Laxman bhai, he said not to go for biggies straight away. He asked me to go slowly for first five to ten overs, and then, increase the scoring rate. I was cleanly instructed not to go on for any on field T20 style experiments when the ball is a tricky one and I was instructed not to dance like what I did in first innings just before getting out. Coach said almost similar. He said me not to try any T20 style shots even if the ball asks you to do so. He just restricted me to score ones and twos, not more than that.

I just nodded the head, that was all I could do at that moment as if I say no to what they say, they'll not gimme any future chance:p. I had some silly personal issues with Anoop Pai, the opener alongside me. I winked him indicating him that all the instructions were crap:p! We finally started to walk, when Anoop said to follow the instructions.

We walked on to the field, and I was on fire to score fast. But Anoop asked ,"WTF will you get if you score fast?:cutit"
No Answer with me. So, he said me to follow what coach and captain instructed.

I simply nodded, but this time, there was no one to wink:p. He took the strike as usual, and I took the other end. Mohinder Sharma started the bowling for Himachal Pradesh. Anoop played some sensible cricket. I just took 18 balls to get off the mark! The first over I faced was damn frustrating one from Ashok Tharur.:facepalm. The ball was just swinging both the sides and thankfully, I could trace the in swingers and duck them well.

The dot balls from my bat came on, and finally, I got frustrated and banged Vikramjeet Malik for a four, which were my first runs in my Career!:banana2.
I got off the mark with a boundary over deep square leg. Anoop just came to me and said ," Great cricket. Off the mark at last:laugh". I just gave a grin and started facing deliveries. And WTF! I got out!:facepalm. I pushed the ball towards mid wicket and said no to run, which Anoop din't understand:facepalm. I ran my best and dived to get in, but the silly umpire, din't even refer. He just raised his finger up. I was walking. But later on, he referred third umpire and called me back.:banana2. I was in a sitaution where I din't knew whether to scold him or thank him:laugh. And I had 5 runs on my name:banana2. Then, I still kept on ducking the balls, scoring at a frustrating Strike rate of 12.

15 overs finished and we were 40 for no loss, with 7 runs from my bat. Then, it was called a Tea Break. We went to dressing room, where I was tapped by every player for playing very patiently. I had a cup of Complan with our coach and Anoop. Coach allowed us to go on for some risks, but not right from beginning. He asked us to take few risks here and there. We nodded, but this time, we both winked each other:laugh.

Then, we went on to play final session of play of Day3. I was to take the strike as it was Anoop, who faced the last ball before tea. I was on fire to go for some huge ones, but my mind said no. And Whoomp! It was a spinner:banana2. I thought having over confidence will rest me in pavilion, so, I was thinking to play basic cricket first! I started with a single off first ball. Anoop faced four deliveries and hit only one run off the last delivery. I was on strike for the last ball. The ball came on to bat nicely, I just walked bit towards legside, and played a powerful stroke for a four:banana2. Then, it was a medium pacer from the other end, we played some good cricket, where I scored some boundaries. I din't run more, but I went for boundaries. I almost went for 5 boundaries in my 24 runs:p.

Anoop alerted me not to go for too many boundaries as the fielders were being spread all round. I controlled myself. But when Vikramjeet Malik bowled a ball, I was damn confident that it'll be a particular ball, which he's gonna bowl me as a next delivery as he bowled the same delivery about 4 times in the past. I had a small chat with a low tone with Anoop and asked whether to take a chance of hitting a big one. He gave green signal, but instructed me to have a back up to defend the ball, if the ball don't connect.

He started bowling, and the ball was delivered as expected, for which, I replied as per my plan:banana2 It was a big one over Long On!
First Six of My Career.
I got off to a big one and I was on 30.

"Will I be able to convert this knock to fifty?" was the question on my mind, and even the suspense, which I'm going to keep it on you.

As usual, there will be no crowd for a Ranji Match, which we all know:p. BTW, cops just stay there! Thats their duty, which they're doing perfectly.

The Indian cops doing their work sincerely :eek:.

Yeah, its Ashes Cricket 09 and Cricket 2007 mixed. And don't get eeked when you see even C05 and C04 getting into business:p. And Moreover, the story runs based on cricsim as thats the greatest user friendly game available ATM.
