DRS no longer mandatory

DRS Should be..

  • Optional (Like it is now), it still has few positives and negatives.

And again, the company behind DRS showed you'd need like a cm of vaseline for it to be of any use. You can't hide that on the edge of a bat.

Seriously, I'm going to start deleting posts that talk about vaseline. It's like saying the earth is flat, we've proved it's not so, so STOP IT!

It's not about Vaseline or some shitty glue..!
I would love to see Hawk-eye as its not much accurate but it is correct 88%.
But hot spot is a total uber blunder! The Co. who had created it have blamed the tech themselves, does it need any more controversies?

How predictable bad decisions that could have been over turned by DRS. When will the ICC grow a backbone and stop bowing to their paymaster's whims??

As for the 2008 series, drs was not launched yet so they couldn't make use of it. Should we all also ride bikes/walk because years ago cars weren't available??

Usually not pro Aus but because of india's stance for this series I will be supporting Aus.;)

Yeah. Coz we all love nature so much. Cricket too should head in Eco-friendly direction. :p
Do you know how much CFC emission is caused by one DRS ;) BCCI should be applauded for taking a stand against global warming caused by all these DRS appeals. :spy

You know this is just a satire don't you.

To be fair i don't think Indians care too much about Haddin. Hussey and especially Cowan were more annoying cos they are actually good batsman

That we will know tomorrow if Haddin goes on to boost Australia's total. Cowan also was annoying because he was scoring runs.

Yes, but it was pretty clear that Hussey didn't even touch the ball. You didn't need hotspot to see it.

Agree. Bad umpires should never be allowed to hide behind technology. This is like Dhoni saying we would have won if we are allowed to play with 15 players :lol Have good umpires. No need to add unreliable technology

The Aussies are reacting as if the umpires will only favor India and not Australia. The same umpires will officiate when India bats too. So expect a few dollies to come your way too. Is it a co-incidence that the standard of umpiring has gone down drastically just after all the controversy about India refusing to adopt the DRS for its games? I would have thought it would make the umpires more alert. Long time back, umpiring used to be so good and the number of howlers was pretty less than what it is right now.

DRS or no DRS, both sides in the game are playing under the same field. So the Aussies have to just wait for some to come their way. There is no trust in the technology (those who blurt out figures that DRS has improved decision making by 9x% blah blah blah are just throwing around figures to support their argument). The trust is just not there over the technology being used, and it better not be used. Improve the umpiring, or just DONT PLAY INDIA AND GET LOST!!!!!:mad:mad:mad

Cowan urges ICC to make a stand | Cricket | Fox Sports

Cowan certainly doesn't hold back. And nice seeing Yadav supporting the cause. This was always going to happen and will continue to happen until we make it mandatory for every series.

Yes, the ICC should take a stand - that of NOT USING DRS AT ALL!

Bloke calm down. Let them speak whatever they want too, the fact is that their own cricketing board does not have the balls to speak up. Speaking of PC members or anger of them will be reflecting the change in their BOARDS decision? NO! So bloke just calm down. I know Hussey's decision was absolute shocker but this is cricket and you have a good day and a bad dat

Sure. Its the prerogative of the host nation to decide if it wants to use DRS. Sure they can consult with the touring country, but the ultimate authority rests with the hosts. So basically, what people are saying is that Cricket Australia doesnt have the balls to say to the BCCI that "WE ARE GOING TO PLAY WITH DRS"? Fried chicken cowards these blokes at the CA are!!!

And then they blame BCCI. Have you seen RobelInda's fb page? He commented something like this today morning that BCCI has made cricket worst andcricket sucks!! But what about other boards? We criticize IPL why the fearsome tweak Australia are up with Big Bash League?:rolleyes

Its just that Australians, English all are used to ruling others and when a country has suddenly up rised and is dominating they cant see that

LOL It's funny to see Australians complaining. Same happened to us when we went there last time in 2007 and nobody complained from their side and when it happens to them, they starts to jump up and down? And those were some big blunders that they did. This time I was hoping it will not happen but it started from day 1. Yes Hussey was not out, I am not sure about Cowan's decision though. But then again we did not get Haddin's decision.

So yes, you only realize some things when it happens to you.

I wonder what DRS supporters feel about walking. Technology and umpires come into play since players are dishonest in many cases.
