Dwayne Leverock, Bermuda's most recognisable player, has hung up his boots after the side lost their ODI status and failed to qualify for the 2011 World Cup.

"I can always hold my head up and know that I gave Bemuda everything I have," Leverock said after the win over Uganda which secured Bermuda ninth place in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers. "I'm speechless right now. I shed a few tears early this morning and late on after the game when we won. It's hard for me. This is what I love to do. It's all in my heart, but this is the right time.

He certainly made an impression.

That was better than Sohum's!

I still remember the diving catch he took in slips to dismiss uthappa in WC. The celebration after that was a classic. A really colourfull character. Deserve a :hpraise:hpraise:hpraise

Would have been nice if he were Indian. I would almost invariably watch us play then. Whether we won or lost, I would still watch it just for him. Romesh Powar was similar but on a slightly lower level.

The only player I'm sure most people on this forum can name from Bermuda's team. It is a shame that Bermuda didn't qualify for the 2011 World Cup, Leverock might of played on till then.

Yeah he certainly is a colourful characrter, something the game needs more of now that Shane Warne isn't in international cricket anymore.

Another one of the minnows legend going :( Sad to see him go I hope Bermuda find another icon figure like him to give incentive for the youngsters to play.

i think he will still continue playing in the english county cricket and yeah bermuda probable wont qualify for the 2011 wc with out him

We may see him in the Stanford 20-20? If not, in the IPL? Next season? Possibly?
