Bomb Blast Ends Tri Series
A home made explosive at Potchefstroom, or whatever the hell that stupid city is called, Stadium, during a Cricketing Tri Series between heavyweights Bermuda (literally, Bermuda has Dwayne Leverock's son in their side) and fellow minnows Holland, (whose lack of fat players turned fans off in a non sexual way) has killed 7 fans and injured 25, as well as leaving several key players in hospital.
The tragedy occured during a 2 month drinks break (creative), and local authorities are still scratching their heads over the tragedy. Fortunately, they have announced that master sleuth and excellent all round detective Mark Shields has been called in to investigate.
A spokesman for the Bermudan cricket team put everyone's minds to rest when he announced that captain Dean Sherr was not involved in the tragedy, as he was at the local pub at the time trying to pick up on his obsession with chicks with South African accents.
"The only player in a critical condition at the moment is Simon Barrow, whose utter lack of activity in the team thread has incensed the entire coaching staff."
In a seemingly unrelated matter, stand in skipper ZoraxDoom was picked up by authorities at Johannesburg airport, apparently about to get on a flight to Athens. He was found wearing a fake wig, and several phone calls on his cell phone were traced to one Stephen Pappas (if no one gets the reference I'll be upset over wasted time). Head of investigations officer, the recently appointed Mark Shields said that the two were completely unrelated.
"We have absolutely no reason to connect the two events, and Zorax has been set free. Until I see at least three autopsy reports I won't comment further."
The tragedy has caused the Tri Series to be called off, with points shared between Bermuda and Holland, as both had won their matches against Canada before the tragedy. The Bermudan has confirmed that they will still contest the upcoming ICC World Cricket League, which has a lucrative 12 month ODI status up for grabs for the winner of the tournament.
