What would happen if Ireland were to be given test status tomorrow, does he have to re-qualify or could he just walk straight back in as he's never played a test?
I'm not sure. If memory serves me correctly, when South Africa got Test status back, the likes of Robin Smith were given the option of playing for them again, but turned it down, so there is a precedent.
