Earlier today,while unveiling the official team jersey at the MCG,a press conference was held by the Melbourne Storm manager Sartaj to address the media,announcing the team skipper in the process.Below are the highlights of the interaction:
On the team structure:
As you can see,we are going in with three overseas batsmen upfront with Amla and AB opening,followed by MSD at #3,a position he's not alien to.The middle-order consists of the Victorian trio of Hussey, White and McDonald.The bowling unit also boosts of handy lower-order sloggers like Lee, Swann and Clint McKay,who is the best of the lot.The attack is exciting to say the least with a good mix of youth and experience.Jonathan Trott should remain the 12th man.
On naming McDonald the skipper:
Look,it was a collective decision everyone is happy with.Ronnie does have some experience under his belt having captained the Bushrangers and is also the most vital element in the balance of the team,being a genuine allrounder of appreciable quality.
On the side's chances::
Though teams like West Coast and Sydney are more fancied,all the five competing teams are pretty evenly matched in terms of quality on paper,so whoever goes out and executes the plans right will find themselves in a good position.In that regard,we do consider ourselves one of the top dogs and team bonding will be a key aspect as well.
On the alleged relationship with Lara Bingle:
No comments but,Lara who?
