what the hell is that all about flintoff is stand in captain and vaughan is a tactical genius damn ECB dont have a clue why doesnt harmison just opened the batting :boxingbarmyarmy said:Even if he is fit the ECB have said that Freddie will remain as captain.
I would love to have him back, but even if he came back for the 3rd test (theres no way Fletcher will bring him back for the 2nd test), would he still be captain. My understanding was that even if Vaughan came back, Flintoff would be captain for the remainder of the Ashes.duded64 said:bbc just said that it looks like vaughan is fully fit next test PLEASE!!! he can out captain ponting im sure hes been thinking tactics all year
100% fit in these terms is physical fitness. How much match practice has he had in the last 6 months. None, so although his knee may feel fine when netting it is different when he is playing games, day in, day out. Like when he was supposedly coming back last June, he played a couple of games for Yorkshire, was doing well then his knee gave way again.duded64 said:how can you rush someone who is 100% fit back?
Good point, you would have to say Collingwood at the moment. he hasn't really made a big score since the 1st test against Pakistan at Lords against a 2nd string bowling attack. To be honest by the time the 3rd test comes around, England could be out of it. And if they are then theres no point risking Vaughan.barmyarmy said:Also who would give way? Vaughan's form before his injury was pretty ropey...
