NH : well we're an hour after lunch here, and england stuttering, they would have been aiming for about a hundred by lunch and here we are n hour after with them ony at 76/3

MH : i agree india have done a great job, englands problem is that no one has hung around and built a partnership, butcher came and went for about 30 runs and vaughn went straight away.

NH : yep, although take no credit from Pathan who has had a brilliant spell ofbowling

MH : yeh he has really kept the runs down and has been suported well by agit agrakar

More problems for england

Charles Colville : well a switch in commentry here didnt break englands bad run and they had a middle order collapse, Thorpe and Strauss were going well but at 91/3, thorpe was dismmissed, and then it all went downhill, england collapsing to 103/6, agarkar with the wicket of thorpe, and pathan taking the next two to get his fifth, great bowling

DL : yeh unfortunately for england thas all true, the only positive to take is that young Strauss reached his 50

CC : yes what a talent, never been to india before and coming out, holding strong and reaching your 50 well everyone collapses around you is grreat stuff, but that is the only positive for england

Bob Wilis : it was a resiliant innings from him, buy just one lapse in concentration, has led him to be dismissed. The time is only 3.04, england wil have to work hard to stick it out 'till tea.

NH : Well after a brief fightback from giles, england have been completely dismissed

IB : there was some big shtos played int the lower order to no avail but a few runs.

NH : Wel i think its plainm and clear, 158 all out is not enough runs, the england bowling attack will have to pull something special out the bag

IB : Big news here!!India scored slowly for hours, then suddnely harmison was brought back on and has taken two more wickets!!!India are now 73/5!!

CC : Well its almost the end of the 1st day and ALREADY 15 wikets have gone down in the whole match, india at 5.04 pm are 73/5

IB : A cracking performance from harmison means he has taken all 5 wikets, great stuff!!

CC : Rhaul Dravid is still in though, a threat to England.

Update

IB : the latest new from india is that Rahul Dravid has made his 50, he brought it up with a lovely four, but was quick to fall to Ashley Giles and he was quikly followed by agit agarkar who smashed a 6 from harmy but then again was caught by thorpe in the slips.

NH : Patel is not out 17 and pathan not out 8, but egland look very wel poised, they batted porly but are making it up with top fielding and bowling, good stuff

Update

MA : Patel and Pathan sarted to get going, but the run was shortlived when Patel was runout by Vaughn for 30, Balaji then went second ball by harmison AGAIN and then then Pathan went.

DG : So there you have it, India are all out for 148, and trail England by 10 runs
