England In India - October 2011/12

Dhoni not only has been poor with bat, he has been poor with keeping also this series

----------

Also
Ian Bell will be England's No. 3. He's never cracked it there, this would really be the time to do it. We're hearing reports that Trott is out of the game

Is it true?

Praveen doesn't looking threatening at the moment. It will be wise to give Sreesanth next over, but since 'wise' and Dhoni doesn't get along well ,I'm not expecting it to happen.

----------

Looks like no more wickets will fall today.

Cricinfo on one commentary line says Trott wont bat today, on other side they say, with Trott not going to bat and another 50 runs trail what will happen if sree bowls to his best

England's opening partnership woes continue for the summer. Highest of 39 at Cardiff against SL. Highly worrying. :(

Their catching hasn't been good either:

Strauss //
Cook /
KP /
Morgan /
Swann /

Does / indicate number of drops? :p

----------

So its official, Trott wont be coming to bat this innings. SO just 8 more wickets

Yep, what else? KP's drop of Yuvi has been the most costly one among the lot for England. And 5 of those 6 drops came off Stuart Broad's deliveries.

----------

So its official, Trott wont be coming to bat this innings. SO just 8 more wickets

Confirmation link? God, that's a massive blow for England if its true.

Good that we wont probably see Trott again in this England 2nd innings (confirmation from the dressing room of England). But I would say that final session belonged to England who have given themselves a decent chance of fighting back. One more wicket would have helped India nullify the English advantage. But so far, this test has been awesome.

Exactly that confirmation came from England dressing room and it was said by Alan Wilkins. Now England will feel the pain to play with injured team :p

God please give us an injury free match please :noway

Stumps There are those who say if you win three sessions in a row you'll win the Test. India had completely dominated the first two but England roared back to take the final. Still, thanks to the most skilful century from Rahul Dravid, India have the lead. England's most two obdurate batsmen - Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott - will make no further contribution with the bat with Cook snared by Ishant and Trott unlikely to feature after his injury. It has been an exhausting and spellbinding day.

And minutes later...

Just some late news on Trott, scans reveal no bone damage and he will be assessed in the morning. So perhaps he may bat after all. Mind you, the medical reports coming out from these dressingrooms have been pretty loose.

Fingers crossed!

This is how the test has gone so far

Day 1 Session 1 - Even | Day 1 Session 2 - India | Day 1 Session 3 - Even | Day 2 Session 1 - India | Day 2 Session 2 - India | Day 2 Session 3 - England

I would say Day 1 Session 3 is even because Dravid and Laxman batted 15 overs to survive a pretty torturous spell of bowling from England (after Mukund got out first ball). So far, India have won 3 sessions, England 1 with two sessions even. India still have the advantage but they could lose it quickly if England win a session or two tomorrow.

India need atleast 2 to 3 wickets in the first session tomorrow. Sree is too crucial as he is our secret main weapon :)

Broad hats off woman.. :p You have got your form back on great time. Its been so funny that Cook who was in such great form has been kept quite and Broad :thumbs

Sad that quite a few online Indian fans in some forums are pouncing on Tendulkar for having a quite series till now. They must remember that the guy who is shining in this series, DRAVID, had a very quiet and shaky 2-3 years before this and yet he never lost hope and has bounced back magnificently. Sachin has had a superlative 2-3 years till now, and I am completely backing him to come good sooner or later this series. The positive and good touch is visible, the runs just need to come.

If thats the case, thats poor implementation from the ICC.

No. The BCCI refused to allow any technology in regards to LBW's be used for this series.

I just find it annoying, because I've not heard anyone explain the noise if it wasn't the edge. Or why Laxman looked behind, a classic sign that he's hit (and heard) it.

Saw it live just before I left for work and there isn't enough to overule that decison in my opinion. On the second point Morgan last test turned around thinking he'd hit it and hadn't so I don't buy that as proof either.

Looking forward to seeing the highlights. Of the last session anyway.

No not at all. I said he has quite series that does not mean that I am against him. :p You know how much he means to us :) He has had a quite series
