England In India - October 2011/12

unsportsmanlike conduct if it stands, cue lots of indians going on about how England this, England that, BUT they aren't England.................. :rolleyes

I think the india team have worked out they are being batted out of the game and perhaps against their own better judgement have decided to take the freebie.

Hang your heads in shame, couldn't give two sheets what has gone before, by who or what, this is the here and now and it was against the spirit of the game. The fielding side have the option not to pursue the appeal. What next? Trying to run batsmen out for backing up? I can't help but feel the situation has made for poor judgement, if you can't take a wicket, can't buy a wicket, you take anything that comes along.

I hear Strauss is off to buy jelly beans, war has been declared :rolleyes This is going to turn the series sour, maybe the players should stay in the dressing room in protest :D

How is that cheating you ████ head? It's careless attitude from your batsman. Umpires haven't signaled four and they also haven't signaled Tea. How can you just go out of the crease like that?

It's not cheating; it's gamesmanship and not cricket.

Praveen acted as though it was dead. Complete piss take. Bell claims Rauf has called over.
Yea, I don't see who appealed? I thought Saha/Praveen whoever just knocked the bails off like that, not trying for a runout.

And did Rauf call over? Cause the basis is that Over was called only after bails knocked off, so therefore the ball wasn't dead when the runout happened. The boundary wasn't even signalled yet and Bell was walking.

Rauf did not call that over. Bell thinks Rauf called it over. Rauf was looking at the boundary stop of Praveen Kumar and wasn't sure about it. So Bell is OUT!! But this is comical stuff. Could snowball into a major controversy if it affects the outcome of the match.

It's fine, India are well known cheats, their bookmakers, VVS and now the whole team.

Hopefully the spirit of cricket will out and he will be recalled. Shocking otherwise from India.
This has happened before and been given not out.

So from now on if players stroll thinking it is a run they should not be OUT? Mistake from England.

Praveen acted as if the ball was dead, not in the spirit of the game.

The same way you don't stop mid-delivery and runout the non-striker.
It''s definitely a mistake from Bell but shocking lack of spirit of cricket shown by India.

Ian has himself to blame more than anyone. He was running the last run till tehalf way when the through was in the air. Only when he crossed the halfway pitch he started walking. He was trying to run the last run and thus indian fielders had every right to appeal
