England In India - October 2011/12

HydXI 78/3 (20.0 ov, AS Yadav 2*, NR Bist 6*, SR Patel 0/6) | Live Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

England XI 367/4 (50 ov)
Hyderabad XI 78/3 (20.0 ov)

Bell's exclusion from the XI already proving a blessing in disguise for England?

Johhny Bairstow, what a beast! 6 fours and 8 sixes en route to an unbeaten 53 ball-104! Kieswetter meanwhile carrying his rich vein of form from where he left in the CLT20. Cook playing a rather surprising aggressive knock, along with Trott. Everything looking perfect heading to the series, everything but for one! Pietersen fails again...

Borthwick meanwhile making full use of this presumably dustbowl surface, bagging all 3 Hyderabad wickets thus far.

Really excited with this touring squad, hopefully they can pull off atleast a couple of wins, if not a series win.

*Jonny Bairstow

So, Borthwick eventually ends up with a pffiefer while Meaker's figures read an impressive 3/30 off his 8 overs. Massive win in the end as well, by 253 runs.

England completely owned the Hyderabad XI! BCCI should have made them worked hard!! A nice India A Team would have been nice instead of this stupid Challenger Series.

Bairstow could be just what the English ODI side needed. Had a good debut, carried that on here and his career 50 over SR is 120 odd, sounds like a fella that can give the ball a whack.

So, Raina has given a statement which goes something like this - We will give a fitting reply to England for the disastrous English tour...

Even I feel, this ODI series is India's....:D

I think I liked the overly-pessimistic, 'India suck', 'we can't win a thing' type of fans better tbh.

Well The whole series depends upon first two ODI.. India Needs is top order to play 30-35 Overs, if they do then i don't think England has bowlers who can stop Raina And Dhoni in these conditions.

I see India Winning this series 4-1 or 5-0..

I suspect a closely fought encounter. Dont write of England just yet, because I remember people doing that back in England. Should be tight.

I agree. I won't be surprised even if India loses the series because this team is very different than what we had in WC. The only positive even before the start of the series is that lots of youngsters are coming in this series. I hope each of them can get a chance to play in 1 or 2 matches.

Guys like Raina should feel more at home now and that will reflect heavily with his batting. In Indian conditions, the guy can be a monster. Plus he is experienced enough too and so he along with Gambhir, Dhoni and Kohli will have to shoulder India's major batting responsibility. Kohli gets the experience of being a senior in this lineup.

Aaron needs to get the game here. Nothing wrong in trying him. Jadeja and Ashwin to be the slow bowlers. We can easily play 5 bowlers with Jadeja as the allrounder. Praveen, Aravind and Aaron should be the medium pacers (Aaron can be swapped for Yadav but Aravind needs to be there for the variety of left arm). I think this team can win it 3-2 or 4-1 even with its inexperience in these conditions.
