England In India - October 2011/12

Aravind will get hammered, surely. I'd rather try Yadav as the guy's got pace. Aaron and Yadav, that would be good to see.

I can already see Indian batting having a tough time against English bowlers. They are just too used to good starts provided by Sachin-Sehwag combo. Except one or two matches our middle order fell like a deck of cards during the WC itself. :facepalm

His pace would have been more helpful in English conditions. I think Dhoni just looks for people who can bend their arm and bowl out 50 overs..

I think he's looking for bowlers can bend more than just their arm:p

This series will be a test to see if England are really making improvements in ODI cricket. I have to be honest, I still have my doubts about some our batsmen on slow pitches. Cook, Trott, Bopara and Bell have all had history struggling on slow pitches. The slower bowlers will be crucial as well, they shouldn't be afraid to bring in Borthwick if Patel struggles.

Yeah, I don't get why Aaron didn't even get a game in England. Tbh, many don't get that. But, on Indian pitches, I don't think Aravind is going to be any good. He isn't PK who can rely on swing and get away with his slow pace. I wouldn't mind seeing 135-140 KMH deliveries getting smashed than those of Aravind. Maybe if we do back these two youngsters, India can have some decent pace options. I have always felt that Yadav has some serious potential.

Will Lord Ganesha break the 'jinx'?

It seems, Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is becoming nightmarish for the home teams - Deccan Chargers and India - as they have lost far too many games in recent times here. So, the authorities, after consulting some astrologers, have erected a statue of Lord Ganesha at the main entrance of the stadium, in the belief that the Lord will ward off any evil effect. :D

Will he? Let's see...

Luckily, better though.....they suggested Lord Ganesha statue & not Poonam Pandey statue. :p

Ajinkya Rahane has the role of taking through India's inning jjust like Dravid or Tendulkar used to do. It will be interesting how he paces his innings. Currently 15 of 40 and he is gone!!

So its waste plus adds up pressure!!

Really this is the best cricketing pitch I have seen for ODI's recently in India. Its bouncing, keeping low sometimes, your shot has its value everything. This is more like 250is wicket.

The 3rd Umpire is Indian, right?

Yeah, just checking. Well done, that was out, but nvm, seems there's no interest in fair decisions anyway.

Ferg - They did, they're still setting the team up. I believe the problem has stemmed from the broadcasting farce at the start of the match.

I think the issue with that runout was, that in the frame that the ball had hit the wicket and the bail was disturbed, it wasn't quite clear whether the bail had been completely dislodged or whether any part of that bail was still on the wicket.

Oh ok, what a shambles at least you guys wont have to listen to BCCI commentators for the rest of the game, what a nightmare it must be for everyone else listening to Shastri & co.

This is a really good start for england, last ten overs will be very interesting however..

I agree. I am happy Sourav is there. He actually speaks well. Shastri is just an idiot.

Even Neo had some problem. Didn't get to see first 3 overs of the match. Though I'm happy they are broadcasting in HD for this series. I was worried that i had to watch the match in crap resolution after watching last few months of cricket on Star Cricket HD :p
