England Team Discussion

2010/11 he bowled his best I believe. 2017/18 was his 2nd best tour. I feel he can repeat his best considering this is is last Ashes and he isn't done yet.
The lengths he bowl & the swing he can extract that from is the key.

If tracks in Australia are typicals drop in ones (which will likely be the case) with little or no swing after the new ball its game over.

But having said that Jimmy is still world class its just that skill set required to be successful in Australia is back of length and a you can extract bit of bounce with the help of surface itself then its icing on the cake.

Look at the lengths that he bowled in 2010/11, beautiful length!!!! Also, the D/N Test in Adelaide is going to be crucial for him. I feel Optus Stadium is going to suit him.

Those were fuller lengths on Greenish wickets on first day as well both Adelaide,MCG or even SCG.

2013/14 tour were he really struggled.

Ideally you won't get such greenish track in Australia barring maybe the new Perth Stadium.

So its more of a new ball game against Jimmy even in India last time around it was similar.

Yes true. I just noticed it carefully and it looks a lot greener. 2013-18 ones look a lot drier.

I would never have guessed this stat:

I'm always bit skeptical of 'fewer tests' stats because there can be differences between innings batted or bowled in. It is a surprising stat but I think he was always very much, at least at the start of his career, a batsman and then quickly became the frontline spinner.

Obviously there's no guarantee all of these guys will want to tour, but if they did you could get a decent series of England vs England Lions games for warm-ups:

Don't see England dropping Buttler considering that England's management considers him as indispensable.
