It got some decisions wrong but it got far more right. It is still a very useful tool and taking it out will 100% definitely lead to more incorrect decisions.

Hotspot was far too unreliable in the previous series, not surprised they dropped it.

Hotspot is very very good at detecting definite edges. If Hotspot says there is an edge then there is. Crucial for lbw.
What it isn't good at is detecting if there was an edge for catches. Therefore 3rd umpires have been relying on video plus noise.
Now they're going to still do that so it will be as if hotspot didn't find any edges. Plus any inside edges onto pad will be missed.
The decision when you actually think about it makes zero sense.

Well atleast England won't be having any advantages anymore....oh wait the umpires....

Even though i support Australia but saying that England had advantage in the last series or whatever is wrong the thing is that England used the Hotspot way better then us :cheers

This is the problem when leaving all this stuff to the broadcaster, if they decide to pull it then there is no option to have it anymore. Not that it would have helped in this case since CA apparently aren't funding hotspot anyway.

Hotspot might become irrelevant anyway if real-time snicko is as good as its meant to be? I liked having hotspot; but no one trusted it late in the last ashes series (the Khawaja decision showed that to a t)

Faulkner's innings shows how good a batsman an all-rounder he can be across all formats.

I know AUS are discussing picking a new # 6 batsman, but if they want they can keep the same set-up from the Oval test & keep Faulkner in the starting XI.
