ZIMBABWE NEED 263 RUNS TO WIN FROM 210 BALLS AT 7.51 RPO.
England got off to a bad start losing Trescothick early, after some pretty ordinary running between the wicket,
and a bad call from Michael Vaughan. Strauss came and went, scoring just 1. Vaughan then had Collingwood
run out after another bad call from the Yorkshireman. England at this stage were 39/3.
But then Vaughan and Bell put up a partnership of 96 runs, before Bell was caught by Ebrahim of the bowlng
of Matsikenyeri for 45. This was followed by 91 run partnership between Vaughan and Flintoff. Flintoff was
then dismissed for 47, thanks to a superb caught and bowled effort by Matsikenyeri.
Vaughan then reached his century and was eventually dismissed for 117 by Nkala. Chris Read played some big
shots towards the end, including three sixes, and England finished at 328 all out in 49.4 Overs. Keeping in
mind the nature of the wicket and overcast conditions, this is a fantastic performance by England.
Thisan Panyangara was very impressive for Zimbabwe, and the most economical of the all the Zimbabwe
bowlers. However it was Nkala who bagged 4 wickets, most of them towards the end of the innings.
Zimbabwe in their reply have lost Sibanda and Ebrahim, but have done a decent job in scoring 66/2 in 15
Overs. James Anderson has been the only wicket-taker for England so far.
