Just read about that and good on him but how is a pitch like that good for the game?? I really can't understand how a team gets fined for having 15 wickets fall on a day, but then both teams easily make 500 and thats ok?? it completely kills off the contest. Well done to Carberry anyway after all hes been through an amazing effort..

Yeah, it's one of those things that is clearly stupid, but they'll tell themselves that it's working as long as the national team is doing well.

1. Ask the Sub Continent fans.

2. They are probably being over-cautious considering they have had points deducted for their pitch twice (iirc) in the past year.

If its at Hants again they're really struggling to control the pitch from what I've heard. Seems to do what it wants

Yep, at The Rose Bowl. No idea what they are doing down there :p.

Yeah good on the groundsman though, if the ECB don't want good competitive matches on competitive wickets may as well just play on pancakes and have a bat-athon.

And that is how you do that, Finals day here we come.

Superb from Pollard and Buttler. Great to win a game with a bit of niggle in it too. :D

Unlike, Owstat I am able to accept when I am wrong. Kieron Pollard, you have proved me well and truly wrong.

Hopefully they can make it count this time round. Unbelievable stuff from Hales, Buttler & Pollard! The first two deserve an England t20 call up sooner than later!

I know it's home advantage and all, but a pitch like this at the Rose Bowl is just shocking. Turning square from ball one means that batting second is almost impossible.

Completely fair game in my opinion. How much do you expect a pitch to deteriorate in 40 overs anyway?

They've done what anyone in the world would do with a spinning line up like that.

Win the toss, win the match. That's what the Rose Bowl is all about. Fair contest between bat and ball for 40 overs? No way.
