I appreciate they've collapsed anyway, so it may not have made much difference, but why was Billings batting so low? That's crazy.

Congratulations to Yorkshire :clap

Well if we are using cricket history as a precedent, when NSW is strong - Australia is strong, when Mumbai is strong India is strong, when Barbados is strong Windies is strong and when Yorkshire is strong - England is strong. So potential good omen for the nation them this triumph...

Another year when we could've actually won the freaking thing having been the top-placed team mid-season, before our customary late season collapse. We're becoming like Arsenal FC tbf. And thank god Nos is gone. It's been all downhill since he took over.

Agreed on Nosworthy, it just hasn't worked. Be interesting to see who comes into that role. We still have enough Coaches to just bring in a guy to pick the team. I think Tres will do it one day, so perhaps someone to tie it over for a few years until he retires.

On the Championship though, I think we did OK. It took a while to name a specialist spinner, but once that penny dropped we were competitive. A few niggles in the bowling attack, but the 5 guys did pretty well for most of the season. I think injuries really cost us though. We lost Myburgh when we had a settled top two and then when we looked like sneaking through in the T20, Kieswetter got injured and with him being our best One Day batsman too, meant it was always going to be a struggle.

Interesting year next year I think. The younger guys in the bowling have done well, so be interesting to see how they kick on and if the likes of Abell can do it in the batting line up. Hopefully we'll see a bit more of Barrow as a batsman next year too, looks good at times so deserves a crack.

Durham win the Royal London One Day cup.

Somerset have appointed Matt Maynard as our new Director of Cricket/First Team Coach. Which I think most people will be very happy with. Knows the system well and has got some good Coaching experience. When you consider that the alternative would have been Ashley Giles, it looks like a brilliant decision. :D

Why do we have so much talent in our domestic formats that don’t get called up? Lyth and Malan should be in our test team Vince, Roy and Taylor should be in ODI and T20 at least. Cook who’s shot selection is very limited playing and captaining the ODI team. Mystery to me.

Not sure if anyone else read the news this morning that Yorkshire will have Maxwell for T20 Blast and Finch for all formats after his IPL commitments.

Wonderful news for us White Rose fans!

I do wonder why Maxwell is only going for the T20 blast if he's suddenly committed to test matches rather than doing what Finch is doing and play some Championship cricket.

Too much of a risk you'd imagine, when Counties are only limited to one Overseas player. Especially when you consider how much he'd probably be paid.

Re-signing Finch is a great signing though. Seemed to do well last year and you'd think he'll improve even more in First Class cricket, as well as already being good in the limited overs stuff.
